What can I say,words cannot do him justice.He's one of the nicest guys I've seen,never complaining,a player with strong ties to tradition and the players especially those he's played with over the last decade or so.Also one of the few remaining players to have played alongside the legendary Maradona,IIRC.

i think that his good mood was only matched with his determination on the field.

two seasons ago when we most needed a defender toshow his face,,, ciro was there playing like in his best years.

Ciro.. He will so be so sorely missed. There are only a few players (or maybe none?), who can bring a smile to the face of so many supporters simply by coming in as a sub.

I have so many memories of Ciro Ferrara, all good.

After Roberto Baggio's departure last season, it'll be another sad moment for serie A when Ferrara leaves us as a player.

...A living legend.

Ferrara reveals future plans

Ciro Ferrara, who yesterday made his 500th Serie A appearance, will join the Juventus youth sector next season.

The 38-year-old will hang up his boots at the end of the current campaign but says he won’t be leaving the Italian giants.

"I’ll still be a part of the environment here," he told the Gazzetta dello Sport newspaper. "I’ll work as a director in the youth system.

"I want to transmit some of my experience to boys who are just about to enter the football world, a world that can be difficult at the start."

Ferrara, who was given a standing ovation by the Juve faithful at the Delle Alpi during the 2-0 win over Parma on Sunday, will wave goodbye to his playing days in a farewell game in his hometown of Napoli on June 9.

The former Italian international won two Serie A titles with Napoli before joining the Turin outfit in 1994. He’s now on the verge of collecting his sixth Scudetto with Juve.

To me Ferrara is the most special player at the club (yes even more than Conte) and it's very sad that he won't see him anymore. I think he deserved more time than he got this season (ahead of Montero) and it's a shame he hasn't participated more in the past few seasons.

As a small consolation, he hangs up his boots with 8 scudetti under his belt, which makes him the 4th player in history to accomplish that and thus goes down in history.
