This will sound desperate, but hopefully everyone at bilbao has given up on llorente's situation to be resolved and perhaps there's a slight chance they would release him now that's no point in buying more time, seeing he won't change his mind.

As much as I'd like us to bring in a striker this transfer window, Red made a very valid point earlier that it would make far better sense to have Llorente arrive at a time when he can acclimatise to a new country/team/league etc. Too much would be expected of him were he to come in this early considering the pressures that would be placed upon him being Juve's answer to the 'forwards issue'.

I say deal with what we've got and get ourselves a bargain in he summer. Bringing back Gabbiadini or Immobile would make more sense to me.

Red's got a point, but still you can't overlook the possibility of other clubs interfering (inevitable) once he's completely out of contract, especially when it's summer and every club's active in the market. we may very well be forced to add this 7/8mil to up his salary duo to competition. ( I don't buy into these pre-signed contract talks)

in my opinion we should give bilbao those couple millions they want.. (something like 5-7 million?) Llorente hasn't played that much this year and needs some time to adapt to the italian league... better to do that now (with a gap of 8 points and such) than doing that next year...

Bilbao really are doing themselves a favor. Nobody will sign a long contract with them after this bullshit with Llorente and Martinez.

OK, maybe they just won't agree to contracts with retarded-high release clauses, which is not very good for Athletic either.

Considering how conte started at juve and benched vidal and other new signings for a while cause they "werent integrated in the team yet"

He will only bring Llorente in important games when he thinks he's ready. Before that, it'll just be serie a.

half a season of serie a games, is much better, then a preseason
