Padoin was marking Konko. If anything, Giaccherini should've followed Gonzalez into the box, but he wandered off into no man's land instead. Peluso should've been more alert though.
That, mixed with a good ball and run. Chiellini would probably have dealt with it.

That ruined his match, because otherwise I thought he did ok, with little intense defending to do around the area. Most of the team were 'ok', but it's easy to play in your 2/3rds of the pitch.

No wonder Atalanta did not put up a fight to keep him...

Hes an okay defender who then with one mistake can cost us dearly

Cost us two goals against Sampdoria, and then again last night with Gonzalez's goal!

How in the world did we not gamble with Masi instead of spend a total of 5 million eventually on this fool...have we not learned from the Molinaro's,Motta's,Boumsong's,Knezevic's of this world that mid table players should stay where they are especially when no other big club is after them!

He reminds me the first season of Leggrotaglie in Juventus. He came in as an stellar and promising signing.... and ended up being one of our the worst defenders of the last decade in that 2004 season.

He was truly shaky and let in so many goals and gave away a lot of penalties with handballs and fouls.

a real disaster

you fail to understand one important aspect of this. gambling with masi would mean:
we keep masi, he plays 3 matches until someone recovers from the injury (regardless of masi's performances). after that he will warm the bench and basically throw away the season for him. no chance to get better or learn more (since experience is the most important thing for defenders) basically stalling his development.
