The play around 1:05 when he outmuscles Lukaku, Sandro aint making that play. Shit a lot of guys aint making that play. He's still raw, and I hate when he tries to do too much with the ball, but he should continue to start

Serie A player of the year in 2015/16; UEFA team of the year in 2016; EURO team of the tournament in 2021; 4 times in serie A team of the season; CL team of the year in 2017. Eight scudetti and 17 trophies with Juve - starter in each of the eight seasons and he played more minutes for us than any other player during our dominance.... but we prefer Gatti to prime Bonucci.

What do you mean curse? Legro had several years of being good to solid for us at backup level. While Gatti had his first 2 good games in a row.

For him legro level is a compliment.
Yellow card magnet and overrated even in his best years post calciopoli imo. But as a backup I guess he was fine

I dont think there was ever a moment in Bonucci's career where I felt "comfortable" with him. Even at his peak he was still being shielded by superior defenders. The only time I trusted him was when he had the ball at his feet.

This is fucking nonsense. How can you call yourself a Juve fan, who essentially watched his entire career, and still utter this BS? He has been a top player for most of his career.

I genuinely don't like him, but that's undeniable.

I recall Leggro having one crazy season where he resurrected from the seasons where he was on par with Bonucci's first season. I think it was after he found Christ IIRC.

The only non subjective thing I said was that he was shielded by superior defenders. Is that false?
It's not a case of being shielded though.

Bonucci's role in our back 3 was not only defending. At his peak he was a great defender but was also great passer of the ball. We all made jokes about him being the 'regista of the defence' early on especially because under Del Nero his long pass attempts were terrible, but Conte encouraged him and as he developed those attributes they became key to our successes.

Later in his career we moved to back 4s and the claim that he wasn't up to scratch takes a real hit there. He was great in that era too.

I fucking hate the guy, but he was definitely a top defender during his prime. He wasn't our best but when we have Chiellini and Barzagli in the team being 3rd doesn't make you a useless cunt.
