If Chiesa really asked for wage increase then I don't understand him. The club backed him up during his tough time and now that's how he repays the club?
have you seen how he behaves on the field? He’s the victim, always. He’ll dribble with his head down, blast the ball into the third deck, and then look around for someone to blame. Not surprising he’s a little deluded.

I'm reading Roma want to loan him..assuming obligation to buy. Ridiculous to think someone can get him for 25m.

Loan sancho, keep soule, finalise the midfield and move on.

Why chiesa would join Roma though is beyond me. And surely we can squeeze more out of an EPL club.

selling chiesa makes sense if you take a look at his last few years objectively. disappointing end product, plus the high salary request are both red flags

but pre-injury chiesa was a beast, look at his first season at juve or especially at his euros. one good pre-season with proper physical preparation and his next club will have an absolute weapon

i still wouldn't mind keeping him at all
Too big a gamble with a new contract

He may actually be sold for 15M. Funny how nobody here is saying fuck him for not accepting a reduced salary.

Chiesa isn’t half the player his father was.

Hard part is I feel like I can't judge any of our attacking players on their performance under Allegri. I really thought Chiesa was going to be the next big thing here.If he is truly demanding a pay raise while the club is trying to reubuild a roster with him having proven nothing, I would sell in a heartbeat, even at a loss.

It's a shame. I wanted to see him outside of Allegri regime for once.
he wasn't that good under pirlo or spalleti regimes.

but i understand why he wants pay raise. you can't pay 7m for rabiot to not do anything while the supposed 2nd best star of the team earns less than that

solution is rabiot not renewed to show the others rabiot's pay is not the standard.

I think it's already happening bro. Apparently we have a deal in hand with Koopmeiners worth 4.5, D. Luiz will be getting 4.5 so here you have two star signings for around 50mln each that will be getting this kind of salary. No room for Chiesa to be renewed at 7mln.

Chiesa had an absolutely amazing second half of the season under Pirlo in 2020/21. His numbers from January to June 2021 weren't that magnificent (9G/6A), but he was simply unplayable. He continued his great form at the EURO in 2021.
Ever since we are waiting for him to be that unplayable Chiesa from 2021, but it never happened. Injury or not, half a season in 4 years is way too little for a superstar status.
I won't mind at all if he leaves, because he's far from irreplaceable.

Apparently we offered him a one year extension on the same wages. Probably to prove himself next season. Also, he doesn't seem irreplaceable to Motta and Chiesa is aware of that.
