Great way to start the season, looked very determined out there, i think it’s probably not that far fetched to say that him staying fit and in this kind of form will be crucial to us having any serious Scudetto ambitions.

Wasn't sure about the move to striker, but with the fluid front 2 (from this game at least) it makes sense, good for him to be on the ball and a threat as much as possible, his finishing and positioning will only improve

If cambiaso and Miretti can keep driving inside than that lets Chiesa find space outside a bit more. I don't think he's an SS still

I want to know people's serious opinions here, does he fit as an SS? I personally don't think so, he doesn't have close ball control, vision and passing range capabilities enough to operate there especially against closed defenses.

He can only be an AMC in the mould of Nedved, not a Zidane or Totti style AMC/SS.

"I wanted to do the knee slide as it had been a long time since I'd last done one," joked Chiesa, who has suffered a series of knee problems, about his celebration after drilling home his second-minute opener.

"We played very well today, especially in the first half. That's how we need to play, a modern style of football," added Chiesa.

"We have to go out and get after teams, we can't just sit back and play on the counter."

probably nobody does, you wouldn't have guessed that this dude played in a 3-5-2:

This is what I loved, we were playing a lopsided hybrid unorthodox system yesterday which I'm pumped for because our squad is a confused mess, and because that's what the old Allegri excelled at.

I think that we’re still quite static upfront. Everyone seems so isolated. Chiesa all to the left, Vlahovic alone upfront and no real right winger. I’m probably a bigger fan of a traditional interpretation of the SS role. We really need a extra reinforcement on the midfield to make things more fluid or finally some luck with Pogba.

Ya that's what I mean. We had runners into the CBs so he didn't have to do it and could find space to get the ball facing goal.

But eventually he will have to do regular SS duties because our opponent will be stronger

Someone yesterday suggested Samardzic in Miretti's role. I think that would work well but could block Fagioli. Maybe Fagioli could take another step this season to link the attack better.
