Gutted for us and also for him. He should have been looking to make the next step in his career and have a good world cup but will now need to focus on recovery.
Damn that sucks.

But as a fan of the Portugal NT, I cannot lie that this improves their odds of qualifying now.

Does this mean that Kulusevski is off the market now?
I don't think he was on the market in the first place (unless a huge offer came ofc). We are short of wingers even with Chiesa not injured. Kulu, Berna, Chiesa and maybe Cuadrado if needed.

I wonder if we would go after a winger this month due to the Chiesa's injury. I doubt it but we will see.

He suffered a tackle after which he should have been subbed out. What has the pitch gotta do with it? Its on our medical stuff which decided he should continue playing.
ACL just happens bro. It's nobody's fault. But I personally blame the pitch, because it cannot be a coincidence that so many of them happen on it.

I really hopes he takes all the time he needs. On a bright side this season was over anyway and Italy won’t qualify for the wc, so there is 0 pressure on him to return early! I’d rather see him only back in January 23 but fit than in September or so for the new season.

But tbh I don’t think he’ll be the same player ever again. Reminds me of zaniolo or Giuseppe Rossi….

Even if he loses 20% of his agility and pace, he is still going to be one of the most explosive players in the world. He will be fine. Based on those few games we've seen him play there, I always thought he'd be a great second striker. He has the directness, composure and eye for goal for it. Maybe he'll make that transition upon his return. Especially the way we play, i always felt like his energy got wasted on defensive duties as a winger. We'll see.. either way, hoping for a speedy recovery so we can have him back in time for next season.

I just wonder one thing - did it start in a clash with Smalling or it had nothing to do with the ACL injury later in the game. If it had anything to do - like he partially tore it vs Smalling then our psychios are the ones to blame for that. Really looking at that videos it appears that is the case.

Don't know Juve's team surgeons but I surmise they and other big Euro soccer clubs have a few certain specialists that they all go to for at least their opinions. Probably too old to perform surgeries these days but here's the doctor anyone and everyone in US sports has used it seems like forever. One more opinion wouldn't hurt.

Only suggestion over the years I say is don't rush back. Athletes always think I'm good to go and someone from Juve better think hard about the long term and not short term. I wouldn't be surprised if he isn't back until 1/23. IMO 9 months is the quickest time to get back on the field.

He most probably tore his ACL during that incident with Smalling. He couldn't run normally after that incident and the first time he tried a fast turn he noticed that something is very wrong. There's no stability in the knee once your ACL has torn.

I got the same idea.
Which makes me wonder why he didn't come off immediately.
