I would imagine his experience playing as a wingback is tempting to the management. He'd most likely cover left and right wing, and our formation requires defensive ability and positional awareness. He seems to have that, and creative ability going forward so it kinda makes sense.

Keita Balde seems better suited playing as a right sided ss alongside Dybala, maybe in a 3-4-3. Which is also kinda tempting.

Well we did make the CL final and have a lot more revenue this year :D

Don't want Di Maria anyway
Sanchez + Bernardeschi + Asamoah replacement = closed mercato
(If we can't get Sanchez, may be Carrrasco? Or another promising player like Bernardeschi, Mbappé being the best of this kind imo. I would also definitely try to get O. Dembelé from Dortmund.)

Will be making a mistake signing Bernadeschi. Good player, ok we all agree on something. We'll only get him if all fails with other targets. Last resort. Can see him going missing in major games. But that's me.

Buffon has spoke highly of him for a couple years now. Gigi singled him out specifically. That says a lot.

But you know what says even more? The fact our trio wants him and that should be the line in the sand we would be foolish to challenge.

If the club wants him then that's good enough for me.

Gigi speaks well of every player he's asked about, especially Italians :D

I don't know enough about the other players in that category, the other wingers we are linked to.

But he's one of the more prominent young Italian players, he's versatile and has a professional mentality, so it's obvious Juve would be interested. That's part of our identity. It amuses me how it winds people up, then you see our domestic domination and how the totalcalcio teams can't quite get us. Inter have actually caught onto it, ironically enough.

Bernardeschi doesn't have any attributes that really stand out to you but he is above average in almost everything IMO. Just enough pace to play on the break. Just enough technique to play in possession. Good enough first touch to play in between the lines. Enough work rate to play as wing back somehow. Good size and strength for an attacker. He can pass and shoot.

I think his value is that he can combine with our top players and play multiple positions. I don't think he is Dybala who can pull something out of his ass against Barcelona but he can do pretty much anything else you ask him to.

You are looking at around 60 million for Morata for starters. He is also nearly 18 months older than Bernadeschi, with a salary reported to be around 7.5 million to boot. I love Alvaro, but given a choice, for what this club needs, I'd take Bernadeschi all day long.
18 months older is a big thing?

I'm not here to say we should buy Morata, nor I'm here to state how we don't need a player like Berna. I just wanna say how inflated price makes sense for Morata cause he proved himself at a big stage while Italian has no grounds to have this price at the moment.

You kinda described a perfect bench player, though.

Must admit, the most puzzling part of this deal to me is our supposed willingness to give him Juve's legendary #10.
He's good, maybe very good, but absolutely nowhere near the Platini, Baggio, Del Pieros of this world... those each were phenomena of an entire generation (let's forget about Pogba giving him the 10 was pretty dumb, however you look at it).

The figures being thrown about are crazy e.g €50million, but if the triumvirate think the kid will come good, then so be it. Their track record on transfers from the past few years give me total confidence.
