I cannot believe that not only our lawyers, but many ppl here think we should just accept that we are being screwed in a scandal bigger than Calciopoli, and get on with things...

WAKE UP PEOPLE !!!

Viola, Lazio, Milan, and Reggina are all guilty of the same charges as us, but they ALL are still in Serie A...

doesnt that anger any of you the way it angers me ??

We are being screwed the worst because Guido Rossi is doing everything in his power to keep us out of Serie A out of SPITE....he and Moratti have orchestrated this whole charade, and Inter know the ONLY way they will win the scudetto is if we are out of the picture, as well as Milan...but Milan has Berlusconi, who has enough power to see Milan only take small damage in this fiasco...

Rossi and Moratti must believe that they have done enough damage to Milan that will keep them in a distant second to Inter in the scudetto race (Milan will STILL top them for the scudetto, IMO)

The real question here is if anyone is taping Guido Rossi's phonecalls ???

Cobolli: “Respect and availabilty”

The chairman was first asked to give the latest on the proceedings with the sporting authorities: “I confirm what was announced by the lawyer, Montanaro. In the same way, I reaffirm that we wish to show availability to the FIGC, as we have done even under the most difficult circumstances. In spite of the use of expressions such as “unacceptable” and “unheard-of”, there has always been respect for the sporting authorities”.
A word on the statement made by the Undersecretary of Sport, Lolli: “It was positive, he has paved the way for cooperation. It was a message of esteem and encouragement. As I’ve been saying for the last few days, Juventus, with 25% of the country’s supporters, is fundamental to Italian football”.
He was then asked how the club would react to the views of the Federation: “We are willing to take them into consideration, but every decision must go through the Board of Directors. However, Juventus is actively participating, as shown by the presence of Marco Fassone, the man in charge of these things, at the meeting held by Lega for the teams of Serie B, and Matarrese has acknowledged this”.
And did he ever imagine being chairman of Juventus would be this challenging? “I knew it wasn’t going to be easy, but I also thought that the sentence passed by the Appeals Court would have been more acceptable, instead there was differential treatment. What am I like as a person? I believe in justice, but I also believe in innocence until the final sentence is passed”.
He brought the discussion to an end with reference to the transfer market: “There is no mystery surrounding Trezeguet. There is nothing more to say about either him or Camoranesi, one of them is here with us in Naples, the other is in Turin recovering from muscle fatigue. And the team? We have a gem of a coach, the same goes for the staff. They’re all working very well, and the players are motivated. In this respect it is very positive.”

Vinman the more I think about it the more angry I get. Especially because there was actually nothing proven. I've read articles that make me want to scream where they say the court ruled on the feelings of the public or some such nonsense. No one ever made public any absolute evidence of this match-fixing, which matches and what happened during the matches etc. And certainly the punishment was way out of proportion to what they "think" happened with regard to fixing matches. What BS. Why were the other clubs forgiven? And the way they rushed through to the verdicts. Did Juve have any time or opportunity to defend properly?

I am not knowledgeable about Italian law or even League rules but something stinks here. And it makes me so mad to hear Juve say they will accept B. It's almost an admission of guilt. And I'm not happy with the waffling in the public statements by the club officials. Decide on something and stick to it. It's not fair to the fans and the players to keep changing the official stance...we'll settle for B, then we want A, but we'll take B.

Whatever happens so much damage has already been done. We lost our best players (notably Cannavaro and Zambrotta), our 2 scudetti and have taken a huge financial hit. Our defense is a mess. Even if we win this at TAR at go back to A, is this team capable of staying in A?

Whichever way I look at this it makes me angry and sad.

Surely, my biggest fear for the future of Juventus is that Internazionale will establish a dynasty for the next 5-10 years. They've taken everything away from Juventus, and now they've come back for seconds (Camo). My heart tells me Inter is behind all of this; Milan only got the point deduction reduced because they basically gave Inter Hernan Crespo.

It's nice to see that Moggi still refers to Juventus as "we". He still considers himself part of the club, and I definately can say that I think of him as a part as well.

Juventus still hope to be reinstated to Serie A
By James Eve
ROME, Aug 28 (Reuters) - Juventus hope Italy's football federation will promote them back to Serie A without having a civil court intervene in a match-fixing scandal, the club's chairman said.
The club are due on Friday to appear in front of the Regional Administrative Court of Lazio, which will hear Juventus's appeal against its relegation to the second-tier Serie B for sporting fraud.
The appeal before the civil court could cause a further delay to the start of the Serie A championship, which has already been moved back two weeks to Sept. 9.
"Our lawyers are speaking with those of the Italian Football Federation (FIGC). Between now and Friday anything is possible," Juventus chairman Giovanni Cobolli Gigli was quoted on Monday in La Gazzetta dello Sport as saying.
"All it would take is a signal to our board" to prevent the appeal before the civil court, he said.
Juventus's decision to appeal to the civil courts followed their failure to regain top division status via the Italian Olympic Committee's (CONI) court of conciliation, which is the final court of appeal in Italy's sports justice system.
But the FIGC have said they will impose extra sanctions on the Turin-based club if they take their case outside the sporting justice system to the civil court.
In July, a sports tribunal hearing the match-fixing case stripped Juventus of their last two titles and sent them down to Serie B, where they will start the season on minus 17 points.
Juventus have argued the punishment is too harsh. Three other clubs caught up in the scandal -- AC Milan, Fiorentina and Lazio -- maintained their Serie A status, although with points penalties.
"We know we deserve some kind of sanction. The problem has always been the disproportionate nature of our punishment in relation to those of the other teams," said Cobolli Gigli.
He also denied Italian media reports that Juventus were planning to sue the FIGC for 130 million euros ($167 million) if they were not reinstated to Serie A.
"The Federation knows well that we haven't asked for 130 million euros in damages, but only come up with a figure that gives an idea of what being relegated to Serie B would mean to us," he said.
Although the FIGC have threatened Juventus with further sanctions, and Juventus have set in motion the appeals process before the Lazio court, the federation has not yet announced any additional measures.

Am i a fool because i hope that juve will be reinstalled in Seria A???

it is annoying and milan always get away with these things but the problem it seem that all agree that juve alone should be punished even UEFA which said that if juve are back in Serie A all italian teams will be banned from europe which means IMO that it is impossible that any court will let that happen only for juve to be back to serie A , again this is painful to all juve fans but this is reality .

we are the team that gets punished for the whole scandal. all the other teams are as guilty as we are but the punishment for the other teams is a joke. I would accept our punishment if the other teams would get punished like we get. The only aim was to put juventus in serie B. there was nothing proven and I think that we would win in front of a civil cort.

Hi,

I have found the following interview in La Stamp's site:

http://www.lastampa.it/sport/cmsSezioni/scandalocalcio/200608articoli/3378girata.asp

I do not know Italian but from the google translation I understand that Mr. Scuderi (Catania's lawyer who won the legal battle against FIGC in 2003) believes that TAR will return Juve to serie A. He has no doubt about it. I hope someone who knows Italian could translate the interview.

Best wihse
