Canna hasn't been anything special under Juande Ramos, not at all. He's just not exposed like he used to be under Schuster. Mainly due to the fact that Ramos has two DM's playing ahead of him as opposed to the lone destroyer Schuster used to deploy.

I disagree, Canna has always declared that he wanted to stay, he also stated that he has agreed a pay cut. When his transfer was announced, i felt betrayed and surprised too and his comments after being a Real player were a huge disappointment for me.
But fact is that he was a Real player and he ought to act like one.
His interest and love for you Juve was shown during that period and now, the way he has always addressed to the media about Juve, despite not having and other personal interest to do really shows smth!!

Wont talk about traitor stuff because I dont consider any of them traitors, but dont and didnt have any issue with Canna because he left, or the club sold him, but because he was on sugarcoating loyalty talk, perhaps he seriously wanted to stay and the club simply sold him, but lets not pretend he didnt want to leave. But yeah, too many got on this traitor BS without realising the financial must to sell, and how the club were selling or dumping these players due to age and salary. Few pages back you were asking about his performance due to someone praised him in contrast to being called awful, Cannavaro isnt awful, he is mainly average, bad compared to what he used to be (insanely brilliant). The thing is in mind and body, its obvious to see he is a bit step behind, which is natural due to his age. In a good defensive system, he works well enough (Ramos improved it quite a bit, even if they few crazy games like Liverpool, where you could see the kinks), not only due to experience but his keen instinctive sense.

But individually, him gauging sitautions wrong, or being too slow to react isnt uncommon, the individual inconsistency is hard to watch knowing he is Canna (especially under Schuster which was more testing individually). He does decent enough job, but defenitely not top level or that consistently good, more of a decent teamplayer defensively then anything else. Its the same in the Azzurri games if you watch, how and in which way he has declined is subtle but obvious.

I just find the report strange. Cannavaro says that it was the management's decision to make him leave while he claimed he'd stay with us through Serie B, but then just one week later he arrived in Madrid claiming how happy he was to make the move and have the chance to win some trophies, including the Champions League. Lets not kid ourselves here: the player was happy to leave this club.

But what's worse than all of this is the apparent foreign takeover of Juventus by the Italian National Team. It's so, so painfully obvious that Cannavaro has been brought here by Marcelo Lippi to form a partnership with Chiellini before the 2010 World Cup. If we fail to sign a younger centerback and target players such as Quagliarella or God-forbid Pepe, the suspicions would be confirmed. In my view, the likes of Cannavaro and Pepe do not warrant a place in this team, and I don't think any serious scout would advise a club to sign Cannavaro as their main defensive reinforcement after watching his previous three seasons.

But hey, perhaps some love to have their ships hijacked.

To me, Zlatan's leaving the team was understandable more than Cannavaro. Though like I said before they're all free to select which way they want to go.

What would you expect him to say since he has become a Real player?
"I m sorry to be here, i never wanted to leave Juventus but the board convinced me that this was the best for the club i love. Amauri has used the same CL excuse too, but it doesnt mean that this was the real cause.
I repeat, when Canna left i was very emotional, because he was one of the first he did that, i still had some hope that we will not be ruined, i even had some hope that this board is working for our favor and that our owners could easily cover the reduced salaries of our champions, for just one year, only to survive the darkest period in our history.
Well, they didnt!!!! History proved, but i could not even dare to believe that this was the case. So i assumed that it was our player's will, rather than our management decisions.
I wasnt accustomed with such grave mistakes from our board, i had almost a blind faith on them. Many things have changed since, history has really made some points. And despite the fact, that even now, i cannot accept gsol's conspiracy theories. I am now in a position to understand the reasoning our board had and the motives behind some of their action.
We can now reach some safer conclusions.
My initial impression for Canna's sale has changed dramatically since then,
and also my faith and admiration on Thuram's integrity...

And Zambro has also proved that he has always wanted to sign for Milan,
another fact that i didnt want to believe pre-calciopoli, but he struggled to prove, sad but true!!
Well, Canna is trying to prove quite the opposite and his comments and stance till then help him!!
In an extend they are all mercenaries and liers, or pawns of their managers, but as far as i am concerned Canna actually tried, even with a limited effort to avoid that from happening. And he has my respect for that, because others didnt!

I had some high expectations from Canna, he was a leader, he was Italian, a world cup winner, he knew more than the other foreigner mercs how important it was for us to stay and support at the moment we wanted him the most.
I was led to believe that he left us by choice, but he dint, at least, this is what i believe now! If the facts prove that he really did that, then previous post stands! For me being in an age that he might not challenge for a title again, does not stands as an excuse, if he intented to leave us, as he was taking the oaths that he will stay no matter what!

Napoli, would gamble if they were financially better off. But they would need to sacrifice quite a portion of their budget on an old defender, however great he would be for them (he would be for them). Us, its not much of a sacrifice to sign him on that salary that is normal for big clubs like us.
