Yeah, we would get creativity from the middle, but we would be easy to predict. We need a lets say De Ceglie and Zuniga or Rafinha on the other flanks.

The best 4-3-1-2 in the last years was played by Milan. They had absoluly perfect fullbacks for this system, but just like every other department of their team, they forgot to bring in players of the same quality.

If I want a defensive back 4, I stick Mellberg on the right.

4-3-1-2 does require offensive play from the full backs. If not from both full backs, then at least one of them will need to provide crosses.
Here a lot depends on the trio in midfield. If ,lets say, Camoranesi plays in midfield then we could live with a stricktly defensive RB.

Milan's 4-3-1-2, played in 2004/05, was also like that. They had Seedorf (or Serginho) on the left side of the midfield trio and the more defensive Maldini as a LB, while Gattuso was on the right of the midfield trio and the offensive Cafu was a RB.

Even if it's a 4-3-2-1 instead of 4-3-1-2, at least one full back with offensive qualities will be welcomed. In 4-3-1-2 on the other hand, an offensive full back will be a must.

I couldn't agree more.

plus with the lack of good available defenders nowadays canna wouldn't be a bad choice certainly not a risky one.

at least he will be free (out of contract this summer) if he didn't fit we can offload him in January.
if comes he would be a great mentor for cricito and aiurdo.
