Fookity fuck....

Ahh....at leats he is free... but that doesnt mean we dont need to buy a gazzillion more defenders....so lets hope we will buy at least 2 world beater defenders and diego....AT LEAST.

Anything less than that is uber failure....

i vowed against this move but anyway, lets think about it for a min. if we actually have a very limited budget and we are planning to spend a huge chunck of it on one WC player (Diego...) then it's actually a sort of good move. but if he is considered to be a WC addition to the team at his age then we have to hired a hitman to shoot Secco. another advantage is that he have a winning mentality, which we clearly lack sometimes

Basically, this would be a good move in that it is cost effective, and may help out the other defenders as they could learn alot from Cannavaro's experience and talent, but only for so long because he is already 36 years old. But if it stops us from signing a quality long term CB, which it most likely will knowing Secco, then this will be really quite shitty.

Canna was easily one of my favourite players when he was with us, and I think the 'traitor' talk is silly. The bottom line is that he's a footballer and has to look out for his own interests. At his age, it just wouldn't have been a smart career move to stay with a club that was going down to Serie B.
And what of Nedved?

Supposedly secco said that we are going to spend big in summer.

It they get canna for free...i dont know how they cannot spend on more players.

If they dont..well we are fucked.

He will not be our solution for the next 5 or 6 years, but:

- he ist free
- he has a lot of experience and will be able to play 1 or 2 years on a high level
- he knows juventus and will adapt fast
- he can teach or younger defenders

Well at least lets hope the prick will give his all in juventus again....

In the end of the day we are paying him to do that so lets hope he will deliver at least for one more year.

And what of Nedved?
Let's be objective here - Nedved staying with Juve wasn't a good move for his career, considering he knew he only had a few years left.

Just because it was the noble thing to do doesn't make it the smartest move, and as much as I adore the likes of Buffon/Nedved/Trez for staying with us when they easily could have jumped ship, I'm not going to judge a player too harshly just because he didn't do the same.

It's somewhat different for someone like Zambrotta, who was with us from very early on in his career. It's not like we made Cannavaro the player he is. Sure, we 'revived' his career and he found his best form with us, but he was only with us for 2 seasons, so one couldn't say that he had a huge debt of gratitude to the club.

Listening to your heart will always be a smart move!
