Hate him all you want, but the fact is, he didnt discredit Juve like Thuram and Zambro, and more importantly he knows he's going to get a lot of shit from players and fans alike for coming back, given the way he left us. But, he's still willing to do so. It's not easy and that has to go some way to redeeming his move away. It definitely counts for something. He's older and slower now which warrants his pay cut, but is by no means a pushover. His game is better suited to the Serie A, and I dont doubt his quality. Quite frankly, Canna is going to be the Del Piero of our defense. And I'd be more than happy to have that at this point in time. So no point denying it.

Another question, no matter how much tight friendship there is between him and Ale but do you think it's fair for players like Del Piero, Pavel, Gigi, Camoranesi, Trezeguet, Zebina to see him coming back? I assume it isn't.

I also assume they get over him and think of someone else. Even if it was Alessandro Del Piero himself that left the club 3years ago, I wouldn't accept him back. So I don't see why we should accept having Cannavaro back.

Well that's the greatest point i've ever heard. Don't accept him for all i care, but there are obvious reasons why we do need expierenced defender. I don't think Camoranesi or Trezeguet would sat in corner and keep it silent if they were against this (actually i think they are starved for success), as Secco is making this deal loud enough for anybody to hear. No need to make unnecessary drama of how it is unfair against the older players if they are satisfied.

If you mean by experienced defender to be over 35 then that's a whole different story. If you mean by experienced defender to be capable and able to command our back line and organize them and AT THE SAME TIME capable of passing then you don't need a player who is hitting his 40's.

You need a bit of cash but at the same time you'll know you have someone who can play for 3 years minimum without worrying before going to bed.

Some of you make it like, we either get Cannavaro or we're screwed next year/season.

I agree this sin't the case, but compared to what we have available now, Cannavaro is an upgrade.
Also, he is a free transfer which means we would be able to spent a bit more on another quality CB since we only have Chiellini as good CB at the moment, while we need 3 good CB's and one 4th decent one (Legro or Mellberg f.e.).
Assuming we have that at our disposal, I would fele much more confident with our backline going into next season.
