cannavaro only solves half our defensive problems, much like if zapata were to come, the problem lies in that high line that ranieri likes to deploy. Ranieri needs the book - the art of italian defending thrown at his head and change that system, because till he does, our defensive frailties will always be exposed nomatter who we have at the back, it may work in spain, but in italy? no way. As for cannavaro himself, its at least a step in the right direction in terms of upping our quality in comparison to knezevic and mellberg and will be influential to our youngsters. as for our mercato ive said it time and time again, all great teams are built from the back, the fact our board have done it the otherway around further shows their incompetance, and im starting to believe that people such as buffon and Lippi are playing more of a role in our transfers than the brainless BOD. If we can now focus on Diego/silva/Motta i will be a very happy person this summer

We play the high line because of our low quality defenders.

Until one month ago we had a very good defensive record and that was thanks to the high line as it helped to prevent the defenders being exposed one-on-one very often.
