There is so much bias against Canna and i feel most of the people here are missing the point!

I used to admire Canna's skills long before we set eyes on him.
Ive always considered him more valuable than Nesta and wished that Juve would get him.
When we got him, it was a dream come true for me. I was absolutely certain of his value and never doubt him, judging him by his Inter days and temporary loss of form.
And despite what happened, i would still welcome such a player in a heartbeat!!

But Canna is not what he was used to be anymore!!
By the time he will join us, he will be 36, most of the players do retire at this age.
And they can hardly compete at the highest levels at this age anyway.
Why should we sign Canna???
What can he offer at this age?? Just think about it!

I am convinced that we are signing him to avoid spending more funds on the d-line! You can be sure about that!
Canna cannot fix our actual, neither the future issues of our defense.
If we sign him, he will be used as an excuse to ignore them one more year.
Gigli will boast that we have upgraded our defense with a real champion
and along with the NT team Legro, the exp Mellberg and Chiellini, we should not face anymore problems. And they have done anything possible to build a strong d-line. (which includes Grugera+Moli as starters)
This could be used as an excuse to permanently lose Criscito, since Secco was owned hard once more there
(he said that there wont be a co own deal and he will be back next year, but he lied)
Such a failure will affect us for many years, because Criscito is a quality young defender who can help our defense the years to come.
A momentary gain of prestige, as the acquisition of Canna will bring,
will distract attention from our real issues.

It is most likely that our board is ordered to buy Cassano at means and we are going to sacrifice our needs in the d-line and re-allocate all the available funds to do so!

To avoid future blame and to distract attention, our board will use the acquisition of the "champion" defender, Canna, to boast that we have strengthened our defense and now we can also strengthen our forward line.

We have seen that again, may times, i cant believe that our fans and our members here are so stupid to buy that.
I cant believe that everybody is ignoring our issues in the defense and do not wish for a permanent solution!
I cant believe that they are feeding you with that crap, once again!!
And you crave for more!!!
I cant believe you are desperate for a second Mellberg...

Thats exactly what i was saying when we were signing Mellberg.
And Jack you and other were convinced that were buying the defenders we need and we wouldnt have to rely on Grygera and Molinaro as starters, but here we are now, one year later, discussing the same issue once more.
We are ready to commit the same mistake, as we have done in so many other cases
and you are still trying to find excuses for this incompetent board...
We have always used those cheap/free defenders as an excuse to invest on our d-line.

I would also welcome Canna and give him a chance for "katharsis", if i knew that another quality defender is coming too.
But i will not welcome him as an excuse to avoid that!

You've got your answer there. We're not building our team up for competing with Inter in the Scudetto race let alone CL. But if you are able to win a CL spot, to qualify for the second round of CL or to make for the semis of the Coppa with Molinaro and Grygera, you'll certainly be able to do it with Cannavaro.

Yes we are....

and yes Ahmed, he should insert it right up his bumhole in the middle of a full stadio olympico while we stone him screaming JUUUUDASS!

And he will still be able to play better then 3/4s of our back line afterward :D

He doesn't need to apologize, the World Cup winning captain should never be asked to play in Serie B.

Those who stayed are saints, but that doesn't made Cannavaro, or Emerson for that matter, cretins.

Reserve that tag for Vieira and Ibrahimovic, they joined Inter for Christ sake.
Why did he lie? And why does this hold true?

I'm against this move at all costs.

Putting aside Calciopoli, there's not a single good reason IMO to bring him back. I'm not even going to discuss his age, because age is the last thing I think of TBH. But looking at his performances I think he would make/be our 4th choice defender.

Experience is the only thing he can gift us but it is pretty dumb getting him just for experience. Very dumb actually.

Cannavaro, since he left us till now, till this day hasn't had one decent good season. Not even one. Our board are pretty close to snatch his signature but that is not very wise looking at what he's done so far.

Again, I'm putting Calciopoli feelings/emotions aside although I can't forget it, but be real, fans and board should have some respect for this teams tradition. We are not Milan, Roma, Inter seriously.

If there's one thing that makes us different than the other teams, is that we have always respected our tradition, and bringing someone who has already played here and hasn't performed good for the last 3, 4 seasons is crossing the read line IMO.

Who here knows who all we will be buying this summer? I am curious, it seems many here already know what our mercato will end up like. Since most of us here are not psychic, I for one would like to know the future, so those of you that already have the answers, please share....

Last time I checked, mercato was in the summer. Our Board has said they have money for "signings", NOT "a signing". I have my doubts as many here to about the BOD, but its far too early to say who they will and will not buy...give them a chance, I am sure they have a lot going on that we do not know about. Just because Canna is presumably coming back does not mean they will end that with the defensive rebuilding. I wish I could predict the future like some of you guys here...must be nice.

We must say a big THANK YOU to Buffon for raising the alarms about the defense even more...who knows what SecCo. were planning...Buffon's statements in the media was definitely what we needed...anyway, I am really excited about who our real big signing will be...rumours are rumours, but it's a great feeeling to know that we are being seriously linked with talents like Diego and David Silva
