Jeremies is one of my favorite players, ASSFLAG!
The irony behind your statement is that in moments of elation, such as scoring big goals or birthday parties, Jens Jeremies was notorious for shoving corner flags up his ass in a show of German strength, power, and overall mental fortitude.

Before the news about Cannavaro returning, there wasn't much talk about buying a CB on this forum (if there was, then I missed it)... Our priorities were a Nedved replacement, a RB, a RM who'd be better than Marchionni to cover the ever injured Camo and then maybe a CB (All the above assuming that we are gonna stick to Ranieri's 4-4-2)... By the time we cover the first three positions, we'd have little money left to buy a decent, experienced CB to teach a thing or two to Chiellini... Chiellini is a gem in the rough, all he needs is a little polishing... If we can get a better CB with experience than Cannavaro, I'm fine with that... If its Cannavaro or nobody at CB, I'd pick Cannavaro...

I was talking about the talk on this forum... the only position the BOD had promised a signing was the Nedved replacement...

Double Swoop For Juventus
Marca en Ingles
April 21st, 2009

Legendary Italian club Juventus remain keen on signing Fabio Cannavaro and have pinpointed another possible target in their quest in signing defensive reinforcements.

Cannavaro's agent Enrico Fedele told Italian Radio Kiss Kiss that Real Madrid have received a fax from the Italian club asking permission to discuss terms with the Azzurri captain, and the negotiations remain ongoing. The former Juventus player's contract expires this Spring in Madrid but would likely have to take a pay cut to sign with the Turin giants.

Juventus are also reportedly interested in signing Madrid teammate Michel Salgado. Speculation persists that the Turin club have hijacked the plans of Al Rayyan to take Il Due to the Qatari League as their major signing. Alessio Secco, the Juventus transfer manager, is reportedly keen on finding defensive reinforcements for the central and right defensive slots, with Salgado fitting the bill as a stop-gap measure.

It was reported earlier in the week that Salgado would likely sign for Al Rayyan in a 10 million € deal, but with first team football possible for Il Due in Turin, the Qatari club will face stiff competition.

Salgado, 33, has over 250 appearances for Los Galacticos, but has found it difficult to crack the first team since the arrival of Sergio Ramos.

I was against Cannavaro returning at first but you know what let's do this. If he comes for a low salary and if it's just for a year then why not.

Couldn't the same have been said about him before we initially signed him from Inter? Sure he was a little younger then, but I still think he'd be better than most of our current defenders.

Sign him on as a squad player for his experience IMO
Huge difference mate, he's 36 this time around and has been consistently average for 2 years now. The bolded part, understatement of the year.

Anybody who voted for, probably doesn't watch the Liga. It doesn't matter how good he was in the past, fact of the matter is, he's been shit for two years now, absolute shit. How anyone would want him is frankly beyond me.
u might be right, but than again on the other side, there are fans who regardless of how Cana plays at the mo, would not want him, even if free...

To me, they still make more sense than the ones who would want Cannavaro regardless of how bad he's been playing at Madrid. Just if they had watched Real-Atletico this season.
