I spoke too soon. Lyon seem to be the Milan of France. Seeing them play each other in the CL semis will be interesting.

I think PSV will be able to edge over Lyon, they are defensively better and now they just need a 0-0 draw to go through...We will be seeing an easy semi final for Milan against Hiddink's men

The only way Inter can edge it is if Adriano plays and Milan's injured players do not recover and of miracles happen

Nicole, long time no post. :)

There was every reason to believe in the French team up to WC2002. Since then it's been a shambles and I doubt many still rate them highly nowadays. Face it, Brazil have taken the crown back and they're keeping it in the foreseeable future.

I think France have always been awful, to me I have France, they beat us both in '98 and '00...But in those torny's the sucked, everyone seems to have short-memories in the world, France were rubbish and boring in both '98 and '00...Zidane himself was a joke in '98 with people in France demanding him to be dropped from the team, the only reason people believe he was good was because he scored the two goals in the final...

Back on topic...Lyon were lucky to get a win against Nantes, I watched the game...(at 4.30am last night!!!)...I like the Nantes goalkeeper, Landeau, he is good...

Why do you insist on making these ridiculous statements anyway? Trying to wind me up, aren't you? :)

Yeah, Lyon missed a lot of starters I believe, mostly youth players. Still, with that advantage in the league, they can afford to drop odd points.

Welcome back Nicole...

I think it is going to be another title for Lyon (anything new there?) The shock I am predicting (don't think so based on the table), is that next season's CL will have Lyon, Lille and Marseille.

Istres will survive:D

Paris Saint Germain are ready to rival Birmingham City for the signature of Deportivo La Coruna striker Walter Pandiani.

The Uruguayan forward is on loan at St Andrews and Blues boss Steve Bruce wants to tie him to a permanent contract in the summer.

With other Premiership clubs, including Middlesbrough and Newcastle United, reportedly in the frame for the South American, Depor will be hoping for an auction for his services.

Deportivo rate Pandiani at around the €5 million mark and PSG are monitoring the situation closely.

If Reinaldo is off-loaded then a bid is expected from the French capital club.

The 29-year-old will have the final say over his future and has adapted well to life in Birmingham.
