Andy, this Azzurri fanboy made one hell of an effort to prove it was a penalty :D

There was indeed slight contact and Grosso took it, exaggerated and dove. But Neil did make a foul there, even if it was a slight one. You could argue if it was enough to give a penalty, but there was contact.

on-topic

I still feel sorry for Ireland, cant imagine how they are feeling. What a way to miss out on a WC. I was more upset by their loss then I was by Bosnia's, atleast we deserved to crash out.

Forza Slovenia on the WC! They knocked out freaking Hiddink, amazing :D

dude any team that concedes how many goals?

3? one being an own goal and another a penalty deserves the top price IMO. to say we were half assed is stupid, u.s. played well against us ill give you that there a hard team to beat. but ghana we beat, there a strong team same as ukraine the czech rep. then there was ukraine also a strong team, then perhaps the hardest germany at home.

as for aus they gave it there all but they couldnt make us pay with a man down, not only that but schwarzer kept very well.

People not supporting their home Nations is sick. I quite frankly have no time for such idiots. Oh wait England don't do well as a Footballing Nation perhaps I should inject some Samba sauce and support Brazil. Utterly disgusting in my opinion. For the Record that greasy wop Grosso did dive it was clear for everyone to see.

Italy had a pretty easy go of it playing Australia and Ukraine in the knockouts. Notice how I didn't say they did not deserve the Cup, but they did have an easy go of it in those said games. If Grosso didn't dive they may have lost out.

But as I said, enjoy it and congrats, you must have been proud when your own real nation was beaten.

im not going through this again.....im aloud to support whoever i want, ive grown up supporting italy all my life through my father, i have a love for the azzurri i dont have for the socceroos. but dont get me wrong i still like seeing aus do well.

and andy, i thought you were being sarcastic about the win.

may i add, ukraine arent a shit team, nor is any team coached by hiddink.

and its easy for people to say that they support there nation if there family originate from that country, but in the end its how you feel, calling people idiotic for something they feel is rather idiotic on that persons part.

nick and andy you have no right calling me an idiot.

I did not call you an idiot.

You are free to support whomever you like, just like I am free to blast you for wishing the demise of your own country. It might be a bit harsh but it reminds me of the folks in the twin towers speculating on put options of airline stocks, essentially betting on their own life being taken via terror attacks.

It just makes no sense to root on somebody else than your own country. It's your own peeps FFS.

In doing that though you wipe out all the support for Australia you supposedly had. Seriously dude there isn't any point, just like the Azzurri and don't care about Australia. It looks better that way, to guard against hypocrisy.

look im not even going to bother arguing with you, you deny anything that isnt something you have the same view on, you refuse to take anyone elses view or oppinion.

and ill happily continue supporting italy and the socceroos.

I am totally open to other opinions. But only when they make sense. If I were to support Germany over the US, I'd be labeled as a moron, rightfully.

If your father was Indian I really doubt you'd be supporting India over Australia, and you know it dawg.

And at least we support our own nation. :p

Good for you, I respect that!

I think you're too hard on those who have Italian parents or just one, but are born in a different country. For me they have the right to support Italy.

The ones that piss me off are those with NO links to the country whatsoever. More so when they refer to Italy as 'we' - check Xtratime for some examples.

Hey, you have a passport, you're cool with me. You're an actual Italian.

I don't have a problem with people liking other nations but you should support your home country first. I like the Azzurri and I try to watch all of their games but they just can't compare to the U.S. IMO. I would not refer to Italy as "we" but I do frequently with the US and Juventus
