Considering our defensive record heading into this match, I'm pleased with the result, especially since we invited them onto us for the majority of the match but still didn't crack.

Momo and Bonucci/Chiellini were the standouts for me. I refuse to get excited though as our style of play certainly lent a hand to their performances.

ADP was poor imo. Other than set pieces, he was rarely a threat. Sums up his season so far, but as long as he continues to hit at least 1 post a game on a free kick, or assist a goal from a corner, the media will continue to overlook his net contribution over 90 min, which needs to improve as Krasic is the only other player capable of making something happen.

He didn't offer much of a threat but he did a lot of good work when he didn't have the ball. The fact that he wasn't dangerous other than on set pieces doesn't sum up his season so far. He was very good against Udinese and Palermo.

- Is it me or the foul on Krasic should have been awarded a Pk instead of showing him a yellow card?

- Like Tahir said, when things aren't going well on the flanks for Krasic/Pepe, just switch positions, it never harms switching.

- Grygera looked solid in defense for the 3rd time this season. Well done Grygy. Keep it up and hopefully he keeps starting ahead of De Ceglie.

- I think we can beat them in Turin and top the group.

The much biased epl soccernet site said this:
"There are an elite group of clubs around Europe who, no matter what their current fortune or status, bring an element of stardust with them wherever they go."
:touched:

WE WILL NEVER DIE!

Clear penalty. I thought Kompany was getting carded.

Was DP's freekick a goal? I think it was.

Yeah ITV are the worst. Haven't watched a game on channel 5 in a while but it was cringeworthy at times tonight. At least Graham Taylor hinted the 2nd Krasic claim was a penalty despite the commentator saying "let's just say the referee got it right" and forcing his point of view that it wasn't a penalty and that Juventus were going down easy. The bias is sickening really, that's the problem with English football, that arrogant English mentality the media and some supportters have lol.

Also LOL at Taylor going on later to call Man City, Man Utd :sergio:
The Australian commentators started saying some crap like "maybe his reputation has preceded him, because he is known for diving".

Since bloody when? :boh:

Clear penalty. I thought Boateng was getting carded.

That's what I also thought, that Boateng was getting carded :sergio:, there was no way Krasic would have dived there. He could have easily passed through Boateng but the guy was fouled. :faq2:

Del Piero freekick? The camera-man showed us one replay only. From that angle it looked like it was on the line, but I would have loved to see it from different angle.

Again a few positive signs & a positive result. I especially liked the fact that we managed to keep our concentration throughout the entire game. I think we're improving.

Maybe we could have tried to attack a little bit more though...

Manninger 6,5 - Good game.
Grygera 6,5 - Good game.
Bonucci 7 - Really good.
Chiellini 7 - Vital.
De Ceglie 7 - Well I'll be damned. Why the sub though? Fatigue maybe?
Krasic 5,5 - One of our weaker links, surprisingly enough. Not too smart either.
Marchisio 6 - Decent outing.
Sissoko 7,5 - Absolutely vital to our midfield. His reading of the game/City's attacking moves was jaw dropping at times, but still a few mistakes as well.
Martinez 5,5 - Limited impact.
Del Piero 6 - Frustrating at times, but able to hold onto the ball when it mattered.
Iaquinta 6,5 - Overall not that great, but he scored. Which is pretty important for a striker.

Pepe 6 - Did his job.
Melo 6 - Also did what was asked of him.
Motta -

DP freekick was clearly not in, sadly.

I whought Krasic should have had two penaltys. First one, was by far the biggest foul.

Yup, it was on the line, but a part of the ball was in :D and I know that still counts. Tough call for the official anyway.

DP's free kick was definitely not a goal as much as I would like that to not be the case. Liked what I saw from Sissoko but I would still play Melo - Aquilani as much as possible.

DC was getting burned at the left. He messed the offside trap a couple of times too. Although it was risky putting Motta in, AJ could have easily given hinm a hard time.
Was he?

Despite City's attacking intentions, we gave away very few chances. Surely this wouldn't happen if 1 of your 4 defenders is getting burned?
I'll admit that he obviously plays some part in the goal we conceded, but such a move is virtually impossible to defend against anyway.

Our entire defence did quite well, De Ceglie even managed to provide some attacking options on the left at times (in difficult circumstances), hence my high rating.
