I won't bother either. I just hope that people won't complain when we end up in pot 3, or even pot 4, in CL, because we didn't gain enough points.

This season we were in pot 2. If we had 1 point less, we'd have been in pot 3. That's how much 1 point might mean. And I understand that the most important thing was to qualify and save energy. But we already had that in the 80th minute and it's not like we were gonna risk anything if we went for the winning goal. We were never interested in scoring that goal, though.

Which one is better you think? To have an English side in your stadium in the first leg or in the second? I personally prefer to play them away in the first leg.
Whatever works out so that we don't have incentive to sit back in both legs, trying to get by the likes of Arsenal and Liverpool through lethargic play.

Generally I like the second leg at home though.

A pot 3 team won our group. If your good enough you should go through. Regardless of your pot seedings.

Fulham can't be considered a normal English side.

They have a rubbish support and Hodgson has them playing in a rather un-English fashion.

However, I always think it is better to play away first.

I, for one, would really like to win this competition. Not sure why some folks wouldn't.
Me too.

Some folk were very dismissive of it, though, as if Juve are too important to bother with such a competition.

This could certainly be a problem.

IMO, this whole "do the least for maximum results" thesis is a plague and has hurt us for a long time, especially in Europe.

Initially I shunned the Europa League because I was so pissed at us losing the CL place, but it's grown on me quite a lot. Really healthy competition and doesn't feature the same teams every single year in the quarter finals. Prize money/uefa ranking obviously are important as well.

If you are a good team, you will. But we're not a good team and I doubt we'll improve so much to comfortably make it through a CL group with 2 quality teams from pot 1 and pot 2.
We'll need all the help we can get in the draw.

Well, that's assuming will be 4th in Italy and make through the CL qualifiers.

That is certainly an issue, but just getting into the CL is the main focus at the moment and I think using the minimum amount of energy tonight was probably the best thing in the circumstances.
