BECKENBAUER AND CRUYFF TO ANALYSE
German television channel ZDF will co-operate with Dutch television channel NOS to broadcast the game and they have invited Franz Beckenbauer and Johan Cruijff to do the analysis prior to and after the match and, of course, at half-time.
The German and Dutch public can enjoy top-of-the-shelft comments on the game from two of Europe's best ever football players who will go hand-in-hand to analyse the match.
A much needed sign of friendship in this period of bitter rivalry.

OMG I had this crazy idea to watch DSF (german sport TV channel) and almost puked ... they are soooooooo confident that they'll kick the dutch. There was this one guy, reporting from Lisbon I think that said 'Wieso knacken wir nicht die Oranje schon jetzt' and then he pulled out this orange icecream on the stick and crunched on it ... funny, but snobbish 
I do worry about one thing, the 'friendliness' that could break out between the two nations' fans as the stadium where the game will be played is not finished yet and only policemen (not a wall) will seperate teh fans :undecide:

Porto, Lisbon - Dutch fans gathered in downtown Porto this afternoon to start the festivities surrounding the opening match of their team in Group D against Germany. Portuguese authorities became exceedingly nervous when German fans also entered the city but no riots have erupted so far.
Scenes of laughter have been filling the Portuguese city since the day began. The Dutch fans brought a lama with them for the occasion (a clear hint towards Rudi Voller's incident with Frank Rijkaard) but when the animal in question spat on a Dutch supporter instead of a German one, hilarity rolled all over the square as Dutch and German fans alike burst out in laughter.
And earlier today in Lisbon, a couple of German tourists had an unsuspected welcome of their lives. As their car with German license plate entered a square packed with people dressed in orange, all went silent for a minute but it only took so long before a Dutch fan walked up to the vehicle and offered the German driver a beer saying: "Hang on to that, you might need it after the match" with an obvious smile on his face.
Rivalry or not, the Dutch and Germans also seem to realise football wouldn't be any fun without the other party. An odd mixture of competition and friendship has taken over.

today BBC covered the germany-holland match preview. It seems that (I'm not sure where, Portugal I assume) the road sign boards are all in either Dutch or German, which tells you which territory you are in - and there is one significant signboard that states to the right is Holland, to the left is Germany. Kinda cool coz you can't be in the middle
