Do people here actually still rate him as some generational talent after being mediocre at both Juve and now Bayern and being benched at his NT for the whole tournament?

Come on. I'm dutch and I think he deserved a chance. Van Dijk was horrendous last match but as a captain gets to do whatever the hell he wants. De Vrij was poor too.

We have a coach that is just so fucking stupid in selecting poor players. Depay should've never played so much, Wijnaldum should've stayed in the fucking desert and how he handled the Veerman situation he should never be coach of Holland again. Red dumbass basterd

Looking at it objectively there should definitely be place for him to get minutes in this current Netherlands squad, nobody really thinks he is an average defender, actually he is very good on his day although that doesn’t come too often, basically an early bloomer that is still inconsistent but with potential to further improve, however currently he is just seen as overrated and overpaid relative to what he is showing on the pitch, which is nothing that a €35M center back on half his wages can’t give you.

Also, i’d say we are not bitter that he left, but rather of the way he did it in, believing in his own hype only to eventually find out that the grass is not always greener on the other side.

de Ligt is a good defender but at Juve it felt like he had a lot of hand balls in the box. That was his reputation from my point of view. I never watched him at Bayern so I don’t know if that has changed. So based on my point of view, I would want him to be in the opponent’s starting 11 because I could get a penalty out of it, even if he played a good match overall.

Still can’t believe that they haven’t given any minutes to Zirkzee at all this tournament either and that he wasn’t even called up at all if not for the Koopmeiners injury.

I read somewhere that Zirkzee was really ill a couple days ago. Wasn't even allowed on the same bus as the other players. Maybe that's why

Seemed to have been available on the bench in all the group matches so far, unused sub pretty much, but perhaps is struggling with an unknown issue behind the scenes as you mentioned, otherwise makes no sense to not give him any minutes at all this tournament.

Fingers crossed "handball" de Ligt plays as a starter.
Also the list of "poor" coaches that somehow doesn't play this world class cb as a starter keeps growing.
Wouldn't be surprised if after he ends up in a second rate championship some other "poor" coach doesn't start him.

I don't think he sucks as much as people think he does, personally I'd happily have him back.

Yes I think so too. Also, he was only called up when on holiday when it was known Koopmeiners couldn't come and he is yet to make his debut for NL. So I'm guessing Koeman doesn't think he can handle the pressure.
If it was up to me Zirkzee would start ahead of Depay against Romania

For 12mil€/year he was underwhelming and that's why he "sucks"...for max 6mil€/year i too would have him back.
