I thought that Germany would never win a major tournament anymore, after they lost their "never say die" attitude when they replaced the Aryans with a bunch of blacks and kebabs.
But now they have a guy named Maximilian Mittelstädt.

If I'm honest it is the latter. We have been awful, tactically so poor and technically it is too high a level for them.
We were never going to win today. It will come down to the other 2 games.
I think Germany are definite contenders. They maybe lack a striker but if they can start Fullkrug around the other attacking players it could make a difference.
Legit question to all you non-English Europeans, how does it feel to have the media hype up the English team to gigantic proportions every fucking tournament they’re in?
I love it! It is one of my pleasures in life to see English fans build up that hype and then get that clueless face when they face real opposition. And then the distraught after the loss. Preferably on penalties.

I think France would be the worst opponent for them. Tight in the center and quick defenders would take away most of Germany's power. Since they really want to overload in the middle. Cynical Portugal may also be a challenge. Germany look good regardless of Scotland though. In more recent years my perception has been that Germany get stuck against teams that sit deep because they have lacked a bit of creativity and players that can get past their man. Sané and the rest they've had are inconsistent. Instead they have relied on gegenpress, which is quick and direct but fairly one-dimensional. If they couldn't go direct they got lost in translation. This year they have a lot more creative players that are good one-on-one. And quick defenders to recover in the high defense.
