What are the english experts saying about the penalty?
Maybe I've been just lucky, but the English opinions I've read mostly state it wasn't a penalty.

In truth that's not even the worst part. It's that, even if there was contact, there can be no question whatsoever that Sterling took a dive. After decades of accusing pretty much every other nation in the world of unsportsmanlike behaviour, decades of saying that they'd rather lose fairly than win by cheating, they do this.

They don't care, it's justice for maradona hand of God, the lampard Germany off the line goal and various others. If anything they're classing it as street smart, 'finally England knows how to play like the Europeans'. To be fair ive avoided listening to the 'egg spurts' or followed any post match analysis altogether but at work they are using the justification that they deserved the first penalty call when kane was brought down.

A lot of people here believe the England hype for some reason. If Italy play to 80% capability then England are done regardless of what level they play. The concern is red cards and penalties because VAR seems to be selective. Spain and Belgium are world class teams, well above England but dispatched by Italy.

Imagine the outcry if Italy wins a penalty like that in the final.
It would be delicious. I hope it happens.

A Pickford howler is appreciated
And pre-ordained.

The trophy is coming home
Just Covid.

I cannot see or think of Busquets and unsee that video ever since.

How the fuck do they get a fucking home game in the Semis and Final? What kind of fraud tournament is this?
Platini should have just called the tournament host “England and Friends”

The better team won eventually. With dark arts, cheating, diving, but they were the better team.
Absolutely. No shame to Denmark, but they were the struggling and weaker side who needed more luck to pull through. No surprise though.

Denmark seriously lacked individual quality. Two of the subs played in a Championship team last season. They had starters from Udinese and Sampdoria. Their forward scored 3 goals in 40 matches in La Liga.
As a team, they are disciplined, they fought and ran well, tactics were fine. But it's hard to compensate top quality with discipline and running. Sometimes it works, tonight it didn't.
It was a great team effort. But I had the same thoughts as you yesterday. You just knew the impossibility of a Maradona moment, or even a Zlatan moment, to turn the inevitable result.

hold up

UK has 32k new daily cases

and they are playing with a full stadium

wat
The Delta variant has come home!!

Ok for me:

1. Schick
2. Spinazzola
3. Pedri
IMO, good list.

If Barella, Veratti and Jorginho play on top of their game, the cheaters are done. Italy's midfield is classes above theirs. Barella had a bad day vs Spain, so did Veratti. If they show up as they know, England are in for a lot of trouble.

Chiesa and Insigne can cause a lot of trouble too. And if Lazios Immobile shows up aswell, they are done.

immobile started the tournament well but has been really bad last couple of games. I dont know about starting Belotti instead would be better, but at least he works his ass off. Immobile just seem really off at the moment

And Kane is the perfect opponent for Chiellini and Bonucci

Guys don’t forget that Denmark also had to travel from Baku as well. Long ass trip for them. They were out on their feet by the start of the second half.

Italy hasn’t had to travel nearly as much as Denmark did and have had an extra days rest. I don’t see their midfield being dominated at all against the likes of Rice and Phillips. We just need to see Immobile finally show up for a big game for Italy and finish his chances and I think Italy will be fine

Or Freddy C will just boss shit and win the game on his own like the Gigachad he is.

Immobile can’t keep being crap forever. And Pickford needs to return being Pickford.
This is one game where Immobile might get a bit of change. England in defensive transition seem to leave acres of space between the three central defenders. So far they got away with it twice against Germany, and Walker bailed them out a couple of times with pure pace, but there are opportunities when Stones or Maguire are static. He really needs to improve though, his touch is shit.

You saw last night that Pickford can turn into a scatterbrain at any moment. He has some ADHD issue, I'm sure I read about it before, he's like a coiled spring and you can never be sure when he's going to unravel with a rush of blood. You can just about get away with a keeper like this over a few games in a tournament, but over a league season you see the madness.
