So how quickly do you think that the commentators will forget this tournament and think the next time Italy plays non-defensively it will be for the first time ever? During every tournament it's just embarrassing to listen to. Has Italy not played in a major tournament since 1982?
Once EPL starts, it'll all be forgotten and Italy will back to being that unpleasant defensive old and slow farming nation again.

People always confuse having a good defense with being defensive.
I don’t care what they think to be honest. This is one of the most enjoyable Italy or Juve sides I’ve ever seen, and it’s been a fantastic month of football- one which I will cherish for many years.

I love this woman. She's totally spot on.

"Champions of civilization" :haha:

And the English disease at World Cups... yeah, I so remember WC 2010 in South Africa where the locals put signs in their bar and restaurant windows saying, "No English fans please". Yes, it was discriminatory. But the truth was we all saw the incidents in the streets, and there was never any doubt that they all involved English supporters.

I think the English, more than anything else, have a very serious substance abuse problem.

Pretty much everyone in Europe drinks too much, but no one gets quite as drunk as the English. And they make it a point of pride as well. If you look at those men sticking flares up their ass: these are not healthy people.

More or less the same goes for the racial abuse. I don't even believe there's any true conviction behind it. It's just that if you're white trash and you don't see any possiblity of climbing the social ladder, it's easier to try to kick down others.

So there's all this and then there's the fact that this coming home bullshit is clearly the manifestation of a society that relies on one event to mask deeprooted issues. If you have a good family, if you have a decent job, if you have things to live for.. You would just like England to win and that would be it.

Yeah, I saw on the news here that studies suggest that domestic abuse goes through the roof in England when ever their national team plays. Apparently this happens regardless of the result, but in terms of severity losses make it worse. Just imagine the amount of battered English women two days ago.

Germany celebrated this (almost) more than 2014

Premfaces annoyed bundesfodders and calshios alike as I had remarked earlier in bread
It’s the word “sympathy” that doesn’t make sense. Obviously English football fans are not loved in other countries except perhaps America.

Aside from 2006 where things got really dirty between both of them Italy has always been the german boomer's favourite vacation destination, cuisine and lifestyle they somewhat looked up to. Italian restaurants are the most common restaurants here, by far. I'm 100% positive Heynckes has a 1970s RV somewhere that he took to Toscana a dozen times. At work even some 28yo zoomer rented an RV and went to Italy last year lmao

I hope these crooked toothed, smelly pieces of dogshit never have to attend in Italy because I swear I will time a vacation just to be there to tear pieces of hair and scalp from these scavengers of history and maybe some poking with tip of a knife in the crowd with no one noticing. A true bastard nation if ever there was one.

Tbh I don't know many people from central or northern Europe who don't love Italy, for numerous reasons, at least for vacationing. Luckily for you the coastal regions are often too expensive/upmarket for working class Brits.

The Germans and Italians also seem to be on good terms with each other although of course there is the occasional mockery. But over all it's my impression their relationship is fine even if they're different culturally.

The Germans love the Italians for their food, nature and the people. The Italians like/respect/admire the Germans for their resilience, mentality and economy - even if they can come accross as somehow stiff to Southern Europeans.

Italy is probably the most loved country in the world.
Both yes and no.

Personally as a Northern European do I admire much about Italy and enjoy their cuisine a lot.

But when it comes to how things work, punctuality, living standards and politics/corruption is Northern Europe much more desirable than Italy/Southern Europe.

It also has to do with the way we are brought up here, so you just know certain things would piss you off immensely if you had to live there on a daily basis.

They still have a long way to go in these parts. But it doesn't mean I don't like the country and most of it's people. Italy is a great country.
