Are you saying the Germans didn't create any chances?
no,

i am saying it's pathetic to call out things you did not create as chances. of course if that is the most dangerous that happens to the opponents goal, then it is sad enough.

of course the germans did have chances, but the ones where they shot onto the goal are not the one's they will claim to be the critical situations in the game. the shot by lahm could have made gigi become a spectator, because if it was well placed he would not have any chance of saving it. the strike by özil (which buffon easily saved) was probably with less power than the shot of a 8 year old so what they actually created by themselves was very poor (in terms of finishing).

Virtually none. Especially not when you compare the kind of chances to the Italian ones. 4-0 would have been a very justified result. Germany were okay the first 20 minutes, but it was only because Italy and Buffon were nervous. After that, they were nowhere.

Del Bosque: " I don't regret not kicking out Italy in the group stages (talking about the 2-2 draw that didn't happen). You have to try and be a fair competitor always, it would have been a step backwards in our careers"

He and Alonso are the only likable players In the Spanish team, Casillas maybe if he wasn't so overrated but that's hardly his fault.

i tend to agree and low has a lot to do with this . He totally messed up the attack , he put podolski who hasn't done shit and put kroos who is a trequartista at right wing and he put gomez in the center which considering the wings was not a good choice . He should have played with real wings , that would have put more pressure on the defense of the italians . I would have played the same attack he played with greece , maybe with the only exception being muller instead of reus or schurrle . .
And also he has organised a very very bad defense , in counter attacks they are always open as seen in the match with italy , greece and portugal . What i don't really understand is how is it possible that in every counter attack they are always left with one cb considering that both cb's should be back and also boateng should stay closer to his goal . Tactically speaking the germans made a terrible match .

Now that i think of it , has low resigned already ?

Here is a little strange fact regarding the Azzurri and their opponents in the knock-outs in this Euro (England, Germany and Spain).

At a World Cup Italy played 9 times against England, Germany and Spain. The record is 6 wins for Italy, 3 draws and 0 defeats with goal difference 15:7
At a EURO Italy played 8 times against England, Germany and Spain. The record is 3 wins for Italy, 5 draws and 0 defeats with goal difference 6:3

Overall in WCs and Ecs Italy has a record of 9 wins-8 draws-0 defeats with goal difference 21:10.

Not a single defeat in the 17 matches against Germany, Spain and England at world cups and euros. One of the draws was a penalty defeat, though. The one with Spain in 2008.

P.S: Separately for each of the three
vs Germany 5-3-0 (14:7)
vs England 2-1-0 (3:1)
vs Spain 2-4-0 (4:2)

It was indeed even. Spain might play some boring football, but they have really dominanted the most matches. I think they will win.
The final could go any way. I really think it will all depend on who scores first & Italy's physical fitness. Hopefully Pirlo will be magical & Balo clinical. It would be nice if a Juve player scores the winner though. Pirlo freekick, a Marchisio bomber or perharps a Giovinco grass cutter .... I kid, I kid :D

I totally misunderstood your previous post.

I remember 2 shots that Buffon had to be on top of his game. There was a swerving ball by Kroos & a fierce shot the was going into Buffon's right top corner by Khedira. Then there were some weird fumbling saves that could have gone anywhere.

PS/ Most Italians on this board are too sensitive. Italy does not need to prove to anyone how great a footballing nation they are so no need to react to any criticism as though it's the end of the world. Chill out fellas :D
