So we couldn't beat the weakest team in this group? Great start as always.
wouldn't say the weakest - I think Greece is at least at the same level of Poland and the Czechs, quite possibly even better, with Russia the clear favorites.

Still expected Poland to do better riding the excitement of a home opener and all but you guys looked surprisingly deflated in the 2nd half vs a 10-men Greek team that had barely survived the wrath of the ref in the first 45 min.

Dam that Spanish ref, he ambioned the Greeks and made me lose my bet and i will win Russia for nothing.
The newspapers here were saying that he doesnt interupt the flow of the game.
I should have known better, home teams are always too anxious and never win their first game home.
But i also know for a fact that Greeks only work when they are the underdogs and the situation seems off hand. I couldnt imagine that the ref would ambition them that much...

I cant wait for this joke of a contest to fall over and start working to our mercato!

Greece made some major subs/half-time adjustments that almost turned the whole thing around. I hate their team, but they should be commended.

Why are people surprised about Poland'd result? They haven't won a single euro match in their history. Have they?
They were romping all over Greece in the first half, then Greece got a player sent off. So I went to see a movie, came back and found they almost lost. How is this not hilarious?

The game should have been decided in the 1st half. Poland was raping Greece all the way but we failed to score more goals. In the 2nd half we had 0 energy and this idiot of a coach only used 1 sub to get the 2nd goalie on the pitch :sergio:.

Czechs might be able to pull level at this rate too.

Neither side is defending well at all so I'm sure we haven't seen the last of the goals

They have great players now and they are playing home, one of their best chances to make a difference, i m sure that they will do better, i was thinking that they could challenge the Russians for the top stop. (yeah, despite what they did to Italy)

the actual switch was in their minds imo, when the Greeks are feeling safe, they underperform, at desperate times, they overperform. They were arrogant enough to consider all the teams in this stage, as easy opponents.
It was a certainty that they wouldnt show up until it was over, but after being 1-0 down and get a questionable red card, to the home team, that triggered their pride and caused the come back.

Salpingidis for the incredibly poor Ninis of that first half had a huge impact on their energy to attack, plus that kid Fourtonis looked quite good with every ball touch. Even if it was mainly mentally they improved alot in 2nd half.
