Mediocre? We got a draw in Dortmund against Germany when Prandelli just took over from Lippi. Beat Spain 2-1 last summer in Bari.
Those were friendlies. Until a year ago every Italian was saying how friendlies aren't important and now they suddenly became valid? Notts County played 1:1 in a friendly in September against the current serie A leaders.

I'm looking at the players at Prandelli's disposal. That's far from a great squad.

Germany will kick our asses again. But at least Portugal can get payback on Denmark and to toy with the Netherlands again.

I may get to crap in van Persie's mouth after all. :wee:

Yup, I see them as favorites this time. They simply have too much quality to keep choking. I think this will be their year.
No way dude. They're not going to make it out of their group.

Germany and Holland will tear them apart.

Depends. The weakest point of the Dutch NT are the fullbacks (van der wiel and pieters)

Those have to deal with Cristiano Ronaldo and Nani against them

Italy have quite a mediocre squad. How on earth do some of you consider them as EURO 2012 favorites?

It's Germany vs Spain. Noone else stands a chance.
This.

Imo, Netherlands reached its peak in 2010 and now is on free fall. They'll have a tough time getting out of the group stages.

If Italy lose Cassano AND Rossi I'd say there campaign is as good as over.

They need atleast one of them for that spark upfront.

I think Holland have too much firepower for Portugal to handle as well.
They better hope van Persie kicks it into gear and Robben is healthy, since they'll need to score a shitload of goals, because they will be conceding a lot.

Group B is the toughest group I've seen in ages.

Poor Denmark.

Also, Group A is the biggest joke I've seen in ages.

I hope there's a miracle and he can recover sooner.
I could care less about Rossi's absence. Matri, Balotelli and Pazzini can cover for him. Cassano absence is a big blow though and was by far the most important player in Prandelli's Italy. He will surely be missed.

Cassano is for sure the biggest blow for us. But not having Rossi (in my opinion) hurts us too. Balo, Pazzo and Matri are goalscorers. Rossi and Cassano are usually links between the midfield and the attack. If Rossi or Cassano aren't there, I hope Balo could connect the mid and the attack.

If Balotelli is going to be the one linking the attack (Assuming Rossi isn't there), you better hope he keep his composer in the tournament. Because if he blows a fuse, Italy are done.
