Inter was a complete embarassment to Italian football tonight...

Roma were hard-done, but who didnt see that coming ??

I thought at least 1 Italian team would pull through.....I cant wait to hear all the English commentators and EPL lovers with the comments :melayyanandmessi:

btw- Liverpool looked the best of any of the teams I watched (I didnt see Barca play)...although they did spank a Real team in a season of crisis

Real haven't had a great season, but they were on a great run of form, their best for 27 years or something.

In all honesty, I think Juve were the only Italian team (if you count inter as italian) that should have gone through.

Inter wasn't that embarrassing. Zlatan got nobody as his foil, so he was a complete loner. Vieira was past his prime to begin with and never should have started over Muntari.

Roma got f'ed, but that was expected.

I expected none of the Italian teams to even score, let alone go through. Thankfully Roma and Juve kept the cleansheet streak of EPL teams against Serie A opponents in the knockout rounds to only 9 straight matches.

The EPL deserves the accolades. They have the money, the talent, and now finally the results. Things always change eventually, however. So they may as well enjoy their moment in the sun.

Liverpool did their usual... 3x more impressive in the CL than in the EPL. But I gotta suggest that ManU is still the team to beat. They could dispatch with any of the other English sides left, IMO.

And Real? Talk about the anti-Liverpool...

i know bayern were playing sporting but to demolish a team 12-1 or whatever it was is un heard of, i think they can get far this CL, a kinda suprise packet.

i would prefer bayern to lift the CL trophy over the other teams TBH

I suspect that if that sentence made any sense, I'd be thinking about banning you. John O'Shea is not British; nor is Steve Finnan.

Regarding your PM, Andy objecting to a flag he finds offensive is in no way an excuse for your racism.
I never mentioned Andy in my PM mate,I don't know where that one came from I asked why I was given an infraction?.Racism I diden't see me being Racist I think perhaps you read the wrong post.My post was calling an Irish player an IRA scumbag, which in truth mate the IRA are scumbags guess you did'nt read the news this week.

I wish Liverpool was more english
why?

the emphasis is much more on physique as opposed to technical skills and mental ability that the players that get the attention needed are those that develope sooner. They also insist on playing young children on full-size pitches with 11v11 sides, which in addition to giving a tremendous advantage to the quicker and stronger players, crucially decreases the number of touches a young player will get on the ball. Instead of being forced to play with the ball at their feet and think quickly, they simply hoof the ball around and use sheer athleticism to win. This of course means that young english players will not develope as well or as quickly, while french, italian, and spanish players play with smaller groups on smaller fields, giving them FAR more touches of the ball, which of course is what they should be doing.
That's ironic considering that Highbury was spacious like a phone booth and from what I hear Stamford Bridge is the same. What is with some English clubs having tiny pitches?

Don't think bayern will get that far in the CL, once they face any of these teams (liverpool, barca or united) they'll likely to get knocked out....

Inter had a very strong team when Mancini was fired and when Mourinho took over. At the summer Mourinho strenghtened the team even more (or he at least tried to) by spending +50m eur on Quaresma, Mancini, Obinna and Muntari (looking at how well and how much the first three play this season, that's 35m eur down the drain).

The goal was the champions league of course. They didn't win it, and it's ok, only one of the many great european teams can win it afterall. But when you look at Mourinho's record in champions league with Inter you'll see that he was actually an embarrassment. He was second in his group behind Panathinaikos. He won two, drew three and lost three matches with a negative goal difference (7:8) and without scoring a goal on the last 4 matches, losing 3 of these 4 matches.

In the league one can argue that the stronger serie A is a reason why he isn't better than Mancini was last year. It could be true, but i'll share the facts with you anyway.
At this time last year, after 27 rounds, Inter had 64pts, 9 pts more than the 2nd placed Roma. This year they have 63pts, 7 more than the 2nd placed Juve.
Even here Mourinho is worse than Mancini and there isn't an improvement.

In the Coppa Mancini was always going all the way to the final and winning it sometimes, while Mourinho will have a hard time to get to the final after the 3:0 defeat from Sampdoria. No improvement again.

In other words, The Special and highest earning coach in the world did shit for Inter and his only achievement so far worthy mentioning was introducing a primavera kid to the senior squad.
Bravo, bravissimo Jose.

I never said you were an Arsenal season ticket holder.

I don't know how you drew the inference from my post that you can't like more than one team.
