Oh Yeah..

I loved the Porto Monaco final so much, I DIDN'T EVEN WATCH IT.

As for the Greece final, perhaps you people are delusional. That was the most boring team that has ever set foot on the green. If that was fun for you then I will stop arguing as of now.

We all like a big final and we all like an upset.

I love the logic on some of you
I want to see Arsenal Dynamo only for Dynamo to win. Yeah, really fun praying for a team from Ukraine to shut of the most attractive football team. If you believe in statistics and logic, that won't happen.

Ok here's the thing.

I like games like milan-Liverpool 3 3, or Man u Juve 4 3, The giants of football fighting it out on the field. That's the beauty of footaball.

You people like Greece Portugal 1 0. '
don't tel me it hasn't happened before... statistics and logic doesn't matter... what matters is the 90+ minutes they put on the field... last year a team called Zenit St. Petersburg won the UEFA cup... they beat a team called Bayern Munich in the semis, boasting of stars of the like of Ribery, Toni, Klose et al... tbey beat them 4-0... was that boring? i didn't think so...

Oh, they were an excellent team then. They were in the top four teams in Spain then weren't they. Why don't you bother thinking before posting?
Why don't you? You said that the beauty of football is "giants fighting giants". No matter how good they were at the time, they are no giants.

If you watched the European Supercup last season you would take back your words.

I saw a good part of it and Zenith were excellent from the very beggining, they didn't exactly shock an already struggling Bayern Munich. Bayer made it to the final by luck, they won because of two late Toni goals to face a team that is in the form of their lives. This is due to the rise of Russian football but I will not get into that. The point of you can't compare Zenith to Basel.

I find it amazing that no one has understood or even tried to comprehend the simple point I was trying to propose.

They are GIANTS relative to Basel.

Read a few pages back. I said that I want the top 6 of the top three domestic leagues to at least have a chance at the C.L.

Deportivo was among them, no?

firstly, just so that you know, Bayern reached the semi's not the final... yes they were lucky to beat Getafe in the quarters... that doesn't make them a smaller side... they were/are still giants compared to Zenit... and yes it is due to the rise of Russian football... thats because Russian football was allowed to rise... same way the Swiss league should also be given the oppurtunity to rise... its not like they got in through luck... they also played the qualifiers... if you take away a CL berth from them it means lot of money is lost... and its not a measly sum like you made it out to be in your earlier post... its very lucrative... with that money they can build a better squad for the future, which will bring in more sponsorship for them or maybe even a millionaire owner... instead you suggest that the top teams of the richer leagues like the EPL, Serie A and La Liga be given more berths making them even richer... thats injustice...
in another angle, look at the human side of things... did players of BATE Borisov ever dream of playing alongside the likes of Del Piero and Nedved, let alone draw with them? the same applies to Basel... regardless of the results its an experience of a lifetime for them... something which would've taught them a lot... you can't take it away from them...

Look, man, I'm not talking about Basel, and neither were you in the post I have quoted. And I've seen how you edited your post on the previous page, well done. I'm a mindless drone if my opinion isn't different from those of some other people? Yeah, that's logical. Compared to that, you "invented" an idea that the ex - G-14 organization has threatened Uefa with for years. I wasn't attacking you, but replying to my post the way you did was uncalled for and, frankly, idiotic.

Nope. If you look back on how many times Juve have participated in the CL as #3 or #4 in the league you get a very interesting number. Once, this year. In the case of liverpool, every year. In the case of Arsenal, ever since Chelsea got Abramovich.
nope, in Abramovic's first year we won the league, in his second year we got 2nd place, and Yes you are losing your touch :D

we all know what you're trying to say, but the idea is so ridiculous that we're having fun showing you up after every justification you give

You get my point, besides pool is the greater evil :D
No we are not. Not compared with Man U or Chelsea.

Get this everyone. The Americans just used last year's profits to pay of our interest for purchasing the club. That translates to Zaki being purchased in January for 1 mil and Heskey getting purchased on a Bosman. No other big purchases unless we win the league or the do extremely well in the CL.

Face Liverpool are the least of everyone's worries.

Gah, you people stifle me. How am I supposed to accurately express my dislike for Liverpool and Arsenal when I have to moderate myself because of Fred, Henry and Enron? :faq2:

It's like going to a birthday party for someone you don't like at all and pretending to have a good time because your friend is friends with this person and made you promise to be nice. :pumpkin:

At least there aren't any Tottenham fans around.

You people really don't know how to pick a club :p

Right then.

Fuck the champions league.

There should be a new league called the European Elite league.

This is a league that features only the best. The most competitive teams will get in. This competition will be made up of 32 teams like the champions league.

Juve Red. You get in by simply qualifying. Only the first two of each respective league books a place in the European Elite League.

All the other teams in Europe fight it out to be part of the top 32. 22 places will be up for grabs. All teams will be enter qualification at different stages like the current rule. If your team has the proper funding and credibility, it may merit a chance for qualification.

Thus the creation of The European Elite League finally comes into practice.
No more boring thrashings, no more uncompetitive games where the superior team has the luxury of playing their reserve team, no more dullness. Every game is entertaining, every game carries value, every game carries a sense of passion.
completely disagree with this concept as like many said it defies the basic characteristics of this game. This would just kill the smaller/mid tier teams because they will not gain any money and all the money would be restricted between the top teams. The rich would get richer and the poor would simply disappear because they will not be able to keep their players or they will get peanuts for their top players.

I know its the romantic in many of us, but thats the beauty of this game and why its superior to many of the other games out there. Look at the club from Cyprus in the Inter group or Cluj having more points than Roma.

nope i missed that one, how is that game going sadomin?? i'm watching chelski and roma. chelsea is wining the midfield battle so i would'nt be surprised if they score soon
It's a pretty open game. Good action from both sides but Liverpool is unsurprisingly somewhat more dangerous.

No Agüero or Torres, though.
