Yes. I think Carroll could work in Rogers' system. They used a similar player at center forward at Swansea last season. Rogers doesn't want to end up with an Aquilani situation. As there are doubts to whether West Ham would actually pay the option.
That said, Henry and Werner have left the Carroll situation in Roger's hands. Which I think is a good move on their part.

Bring Sahin, Cazorla, keep the mercenary and get me either a left back or a quality center back, then all of a sudden we have a chance for the title imo.
But thats not going to happen. The merc will leave, we won't sign Cazorla because he's too expensive for us, we'll end up not signing Sahin because Wenger believes Diaby is world class, and we definitely won't be signing any defenders.
