Ya Graham is quite tall i guess, but he isn't that type of player at all. They almost never play long balls to him, because he's more of a striker that prefers it on the ground.

Perhaps it's the system and not so much the player? I've seen Carroll do quite well when his task is to spread the ball, keep possession, and be a target man. I just wouldn't expect him to score much.
I'd prefer another option of course, but I think he could work out for a little while.
He'd be good, but Cazorla would take your team to another level no matter which striker is played. It would be fairly stupid to imagine that midfield actually, especially when Wilshere returns (if that ever happens).

No doubt that Cazorla is the better and more accomplished player, and i would definitely prefer him if i was to choose between the two. But the two play in completely different positions, Cazorla will occupy one of the wing forward positions while Sahin will play central midfield. Wilshere does not look like he's going to be back for the start of the season, and only God knows when he will be back with the constant setbacks he is facing. I do not rate Ramsey and do not want to see him starting for us, and Rosicky is inconsistent and made of glass. So I think we need another midfielder.
don't forget, however, that you played a Milan team void of its two best players, Robinho and its Euro contingent (for the better part of the game), which Milan team was also behind Chelski in the pre-season prep.
