You should know better than to be offended by generalizations. The thing is that the youtube reaction is really just an R-rated version of the English media's take on the situation. I understand that Liverpool's inability to shut the fuck up has made Suarez a much larger target, but this whole "how dare you sully our clean sport" reaction is just stupid.

Kenny Dalglish is the guy doing the best job at keeping Suarez disliked, the club continues to vocally support and downplay the act of a player who was found guilty of racist abuse. On the point you made here; it seems there is more a realisation that racism is not erased from English football or society (as if that needed pointing out) but that it was just dormant. Rio Ferdinand might not be the brightest spark but from his self-elected role as voice of the yoof he said something along the same lines:
As it was John Terry directing it to his brother you can understand his mixed position. It'll be interesting if he partners Terry in the Euros.

So I think it is obviously a presence within the sport in england, just perhaps it's not been in the limelight since isolated idiots in the stands don't make as good a story as star players.

I can understand the kick to Parker being accidental, but it was definitely a bonehead move and completely unnecessary with the ball in the air like that.
Can't really tell much from still photo if that was an actual eye gouge or just the way the image capture that split second of the match. If that is an eye gouge, thats pretty fucked up and he should get a ban. But you can't really tell.
