I don't have a problem with teams that don't let us play out football by superior organization, or astute defending. Teams like Stoke however make the game look ugly and transform it into a wrestling contest rather than a game of football. Like I said, i reserve the right to wish them the worst and hope they get relegated.

Typical arsenal fan response. There are loads of ways to play football Fred, don't bitch because your manager prefers a physically light game full of passing that Stoke can counter through legitimate tactics. This is a sport not a pantomime and Stoke at least have the balls to play to their strengths not like attractive football clones like Wigan or Coyles burnley.

I'm not anti defense. You haven't read my posts if you think so. I would never wish a team get relegated just because they play a defensive style. I wouldn't enjoy it, and i probably wouldn't watch that team, but i wouldn't wish them relegation. A team that plays like Stoke however, with all the thuggery and dirty tackles, they're a pain to watch. Like i said before, they have the right to play however they want, but this particular style, one route football, throw ins, mix ups in the box, crowding the keeper, pushing people around, turning a game into a wrestling matchup, thats a style i will never appreciate nor respect. I don't deny them the right to play that way, but i wish them relegation as long as they play that way.
Defense and organization is an art in football, one that i don't particularly enjoy, but i still recognize it as an art. I will always appreciate a team that can defend like Inter did last season, or like United did a few seasons before. But the Stokes, Blackburns and co are everything that is wrong with the EPL.

I didn't support Arsenal back then, and we were not more successful under Graham, definitely not. For one thing, we weren't in the CL every season, and even when we were, we always used to get knocked out of the first round.
Either you don't know how to read or you're just ignoring what i said. My problem isn't in the defensive side of their game, i dare you to quote me and show me where i said i had a problem with Stoke's defensive side. If anything, i hate the way they attack not the way they defend. The route one football, the throw ins, the way they push people around and play dirty tactics in throw ins and set pieces is what annoys me most about them, not that they park the bus.
I can appreciate McLeish's Birmingham in the way they played last season, despite them being a lot more negative than Stoke. So as you can see, its not the defensive nature of Stoke's game that bothers me.

These aspects of the game whether use in attack OR defence aren't discraceful or alien (rugby being a different sport to football). My clear basic point has and always will be that the tactics are legitimate, enrich football through providing challenges and altering styles of play. Everything Stoke do that isn't a clear booking of course is a part of the game and just because it doesn't fit in with the mass marketed tally tally that you obviously enjoy, which is your peogative.

Its ugly football that ideally would have no place in football. Soon enough Stoke will get relegated back to where they belong and i'll be a happy man.
As for me not liking them because i'm an Arsenal fan. Bullshit, they'll give us a hard time, but we'll probably beat them again. If i wanted to hate a team as an Arsenal fan, i'd take a team that actually takes points of us. Stoke have beat us once out of the 4 PL games we've played against them, the other 3 ended in our favor.
