He wouldn't fit in at Juve, if that's what you're wondering.

really? there's an article in spanish an english media from yesterday.

look:

Van der Vaart : "I have heard of the interest from Liverpool and Chelsea - and that is very flattering,"

"If either of them were willing to offer me first-team football, I will be honest that it would be very hard for me to not listen to what they had to say.

"I think I have the relationship with Madrid where they understand my position and would let me hold talks.

"I expect the majority of transfers to be concluded in the next two weeks, and if Chelsea or Liverpool wanted to talk with me I would at the very least listen to what they have to say.

"They are both giants, and if they could offer first-team football it may prove impossible to turn down.

"I wouldn't be willing to play for any clubs in Spain out of respect for Madrid, so in my eyes the only other place to go would be the Premier League.

"It's the only league that competes with the standard of La Liga."

That's an older article that's probably been recycled by many media outlets.

A couple of days after the original article, this came out.

Van der Vaart rules out PL
Dutch playmaker has no desire to leave Real

Last updated: 26th July 2010

Van der Vaart: Transfer talk

Rafael van der Vaart insists reports linking him with a move to England are wide of the mark.

The Real Madrid midfielder was believed to be mulling over the prospect of a switch to the Premier League, with Liverpool and Chelseaready to pounce.

It was claimed that Van der Vaart was ready to call time on his time in Spain after slipping down the pecking order at Santiago Bernabeu.

He was even quoted as saying that the opportunity to join Liverpool or Chelsea would be 'impossible to turn down'.

However, the Dutchman claims he has been misquoted and never intended to suggest that he was closing in on a move to England.

Determined

Instead, the 27-year-old playmaker is looking to force his way into the fold at Real, with Jose Mourinho having stepped into the Bernabeu hot-seat over the summer.

"I'm determined to stay at Real Madrid," Van der Vaart told De Telegraaf.

"I want to stay here and succeed at Real. It's a shame that the English press has misquoted me. They've written things that are simply not true."

Van der Vaart has spent the last two years in the Spanish capital, having completed a big-money move from Hamburg in 2008.

He has managed 70 appearances in all competitions during his time in Madrid, but found himself unable to hold down a regular starting berth last season.

At this time of year, it's all bull shit until it's official.:D
Indeed.

The Sun:"Arsenal officials are planning to bid around 7 million Euros for Italian goalkeeper Federico Marchetti (27), who is on his way out of Cagliari after a recent bust-up with chairman Massimo Cellino.

Cellino wants 15 million Euros, but a deal could be reached on the basis of 10 millions. Developments are expected."

Wenger: "It is only noise. In our job we have to deal with what we can master. What we cannot influence is not to worry about.
"We have learned about that and I believe that in a big club you have to live with those kind of noises without being disturbed.
"I am very happy with Cesc and we are all very happy at the club with Cesc.
"He is a very important player for us, he is our captain and we have worked very hard for him to be the future of our team.
"That is why we are always adamant about not letting him go."

Liverpool manager Roy Hodgson believes that his team will face a tough test in their Europa League qualifier against FK Rabotnicki, with a number of first team players out of action.

Steven Gerrard, Joe Cole, Jamie Carragher and Glen Johnson are all being rested after only returning to training in the last week after the World Cup, and Hodgson believes it will be a difficult game.

"I couldn't have envisaged at the start of my time with Liverpool a more difficult situation than the one I find myself in - coming to Skopje to play a third qualifying round game against a good opponent having really had very little time to work with the Liverpool first team, and not having as many as 10 senior first team players," said the Reds boss.

"So, it couldn't be more difficult."

Speaking at a press conference ahead of the game, Hodgson also revealed his displeasure at having to play such an important game just weeks after the end of the World Cup.

"Although I did it with Fulham, I think in World Cup years it is a tremendous burden on the senior teams from countries like England, Spain, Italy and Germany to have to play third qualifying round matches on July 29 when the players have not returned from their holidays until July 22 or 23," he added.

"Everybody knows that you can't bring people off the beach, give them three days' training and then throw them into a top-class competitive game."

With such a high number of first team players out of contention Martin Skrtel, Daniel Agger and Alberto Aquilani are all likely to start, while youngsters like Stephen Darby and Jay Spearing could also feature.

Despite seeing his selection options limited, Hodgson is still confident that his side will be able to put in a competitive performance.

"I am hoping it will be a good game from us and we will be able to win it, but I am far from confident that is going to be the case because we know the value of the opposition and we know that with 13 players returning from the World Cup and most of them not here, this is not the Liverpool team that people will be watching throughout the season," he continued.

"But I am still very optimistic the team we put out tomorrow will be very competitive and will not let the club down."
