Well its a choice between Song and Diaby/Denilson isn't it? As we're not buying two midfielders.

I like Koscielny, he was great in his first season at the Ligue, though I still have my reservations on if he can make the step up, and i am also concerned if he strike an effective partnership with TV as i believe the two are too similar.

Can't you sell the three of them? or one or two, leave the other(s) as backup(s) and get a proper dm? a vieira-esque one

I don't see much on Diaby or Eduardo, Song is an interesting player but i wouldn't trust on him just yet.

I think Song is decent. Wouldn't mind keeping him as a starter. We already have problems in squad depth, so i would rather we keep Denilson and Song and buy a quality midfielder, preferably a box to box midfielder thats good at winning the ball.

Diaby and Denilson are both poor midfielders, Diaby is better than Denilson though.

CARLES PUYOL has told Arsenal to show Cesc Fabregas some respect and allow him to join Barcelona.
Fabregas, 23, has been the subject of intense interest from the Spanish champions, who had a £29million offer for him rejected last month.

Gunners boss Arsene Wenger has ruled out the possibility of allowing his captain to leave the Emirates.

But Barca defender Puyol — who along with Fabregas was part of Spain's victorious World Cup squad — says the midfielder should be allowed to move back to the club where he started his career in order to win more silverware.

Arsenal have not won a trophy in five years and Puyol, 32, said: "I think Arsenal need to respect his class and show the same class by giving the guy who has given so much to them the move that he and his family want.

"He isn't just being deprived of moving to the best club in the world, more importantly, he is being deprived of coming home.

"He has tried everything to win trophies at Arsenal and when he sees the success so many of his Spanish team-mates are having at Barcelona, it's only natural that he should want to be a part of that."

Speaking to a Sunday newspaper, Puyol added: "Cesc is the future of Barcelona and Arsenal can't do anything to stop that.

"I have just spent six weeks with him and there is only one club he wants to be at."

This has become so annoying, and Barca players/managements/presidents/fans need to show Arsenal some respect. Puyol needs to stfp, how ironic that this cunt is talking about respect, when he doesn't have any. I can't stand Barca

29 million for Cesc is highway robbery. Regardless of whether he wants to go or not, no business in the world will lose such a valuable asset for half his worth.

I think Cesc is the best CM in the world so the fee should be a big one.

The first time I disagree with the methods used in this saga.

Everyone's looking for the own interest and that's fine. Fabregas wants to leave and he's trying to convince Arsenal to let him go. Barca want to get Fabregas but for as little as possible. As any normal club, Barca want to take advantage of the situation that the player wants them and they'd like to get him cheaper. Juve are doing the same with Krasic, aren't we?
Arsenal though know that they have a jewel and they are imo ready to sell him, but they don't want to sell him for less his value. Perfectly normal. If Diego says tomorrow that he wants Arsenal only and if Arsenal give us 13m eur for him and put all kinds of pressure on us through the media, should we let Diego go for 13m euro?

Now, strictly following the rules one can freely say that Fabregas should STFU and respect his contract while Barca should be sued for playing dirty, distracting and approaching a player under contract. But that's a naive way to look at it because every single team will act like Barca in this case and there are numerous examples for that.

What I disagree with though is how Barca started involving the players in this. It's none of Puyol's business to interfere. I'll mention Del Piero, but there are many like Del Piero too, who won't say that CSKA should just let Krasic join the bigger team, or the best team in the world, simply because Del Piero knows how that's none of his business.

I wish Arsenal stand strong in this and don't lower their demands. Cesc is a brilliant talent and already a proven class who in today's market is worth much more than the sorry 34m eur Barcelona are offering. And especially to a team like Arsenal he's worth much more than that. If Barca could pay a value close to 70m eur for a 28 year old Zlatan and 40m eur for a 29 year old Villa, then a 23 year old proven class like Fabregas is worth at least 45m eur.

Have any of you guys seen the part when Puyol and Xavi jump on Cecs from behind and put the Barca jersey on him during the wc celebrations in Spian?

That's funny until it happens to one of our players.

It's a funny war going on between these two clubs. Barcelona feel that Arsenal stole Fabregas when they offered him a professional contract at the time when Barca couldn't do it. Arsenal feel that Barca is trying to steal Cesc using his desire to come back home.

In the end we get back to the debate about the power of the players over the club. If Cesc wanted Barcelona so much then he could have waited for a year and a half instead of flying to London to sign a professional contract and earn more money. He didn't. He left the club which invested in his development. Now he's trying to do the same to the other club that invested even more in him.
What can the club do in these cases? What's the point of the contract if a player has so much power and can simply refuse to give his best if the team doesn't let him go?
