I wonder where they'd play him though. Fuck they have one heck of a squad though. Imagine having to choose 4 out of Kranjcar, Lennon, Bale, Giovani Dos Santos, Modric, VDV, Huddlestone, Jenas and Palacios.

Will everyone please stop comparing every single transfer to Martinez.
I never have before, and usually really don't look into the whole financial side of things too much when others are obsessed about wages and what not. I really don't like comparing players either, but this is VDV, anything goes in my book, you'll have to cut me some slack. :D

In general, I agree with you though.

Most of the English press is saying 8 million.
Even though he wouldn't fit our system, this transfer angers me a great deal. Simply because I never liked Spurs and VDV is going on the cheap. Ah well, I have to like them now.

Going from Madrid to Spurs, to only sit on the bench. That would be terrible. I really hope he plays for them, they're not even a top team.

Oh shit, they do play 4-4-2. I never thought about that, bit of a weird buy then.

Still, just bench whoever he has to bench to play Rafael. He will rock the EPL.

I think Aaron has a point here Ken :D

VDV is a brilliant player of course, and is probably better than most of Spuds midfielders. But they play a particular setup, they have two speedy and direct wingers, their system is build on those two players. I strongly doubt he'd take Bale's position. The latter has been fantastic for Tottenham. Maybe he'll play as a second striker?

Since you posted at the same time, I'm assuming you didn't see my last post. I only just realised they play 4-4-2, I never even thought about that. He'll have to play support striker, as he won't be fielded next to Modric.

I really hope Redknapp doesn't intend using him as a backup for Modric though, that would be fucked up. I'd swim to England and slap some sense into the man, if that's the case. I want to see Rafael play. :andy2:

Keep that up, and this forum won't be big enough for you to hide! :D

He's always been my favourite, because of his style. Such flair. It's how the Dutch like them best usually. I just hope he gets to play. Would be nice to see him in action in the EPL to be fair.

On a different note: I was thinking, Liverpool looks pretty good now:

Poulsen-Meireles
Kuyt-Gerrard-Cole
Torres

If you were to play like that, that is. I like it. Can Cole play on the left?
