I'm not sure about the Owen to Man Utd thing.

He's on roughly 100k per week at Newcastle, but if Man Utd gave half that as a basic wage and half in bonuses, it would seem a decent gamble.

A fit Owen is/was one of the best poachers in Europe.

On a free transfer, Owen is worth the gamble IMO, he would be a backup for Berbatov/Rooney so why not.

If he stays fit, he is good for 10-15 goals, surely.
