i doubt he will go back to bayern. real madrid and inter are most likely imo.

bayern dont need him and having him back might cause some tensions to other players. (he left to for money) besides i cant see him getting a starting role in bayern anymore, with ribery and a lot of other players who are younger than him and in good form as well.

real or inter it is.

I've always thought Arsenal have had the talent to top the league. It was just a matter of not underachieving. Now it seems the pieces are falling into place, so far. Hopefully my Reds can keep pace and make it an interesting race all the way.
this will sound a bit too pessimistic judging by Arsenals great start..but i think theres no way Arsenal can win the league this season..Talent alone isnt enough to win you the league..maybe the fa cup but definetely not the league..

I dont trust players like Hleb and Flamini to be consistent..i'm pretty sure they'll be back to their frustrating selves again..Rosicky cant play 4 games in a row without picking up a knock..Senderos is a disaster waiting to happen..and we dont have no depth whatsoever on the wings..i think both Walcott and Diaby are horrible wingers, that dont offer anything whatsover..so we dont have any adequate replacements for Hleb and Rosicky.

I dont even want to imagine what would happen to our defence when Toure goes to the African Cup..IMO he's the one keeping the defence together now..without him,our defence are shambles..as Gallas like Rosicky cant seem to play 4 matches without picking an injury.

I dont even want to get started about Adebayor..i'm kind of happy that he'll leave us in january actually.

In short,i just dont think this current team is good enough to win the league..i'll be very surprised if they even come close to it..Our squad still needs a proven striker,2 good wingers,a reliable keeper and a central defender.

Arsenal have a fantastic chance of winning the league, it was difficult because they had to contend with Manchester United, Chelsea and Liverpool in the past but now I don't count Chelsea as challengers at all this season anymore.

Last season they dominated games but could not score at vital times but now they are converting those chances so they would be a lot closer than they were last season.

I don't know how anybody how Arsenal can be classified as weak in places when they have so many options.

Senderos is not a starter so it does not matter if he is reliable or not

They are not weak in the striking department because Adebayor, Van Persie and now Eduardo are enough

They have too many creative players to be worried about not creating chances.

Lehmann is going through a bad patch, does not mean he won't snap out of it and Almunia has never been a bad back up.

Wenger is 1 of the very best in the business, Clichy is a fantastic underrated left back with Sagna proving to be a hit as well.

Eboue is still there, Gallas it to come back to shore up the defence.

Fabregas is probably going to be player of the year and players like Diably, Diarra, Denislon are able back ups

I would rather have Arsenal's current outlook to Juventus's anyday of the week

A lot of potential and pace about them and so many players with superb technique.

It would not surprise me in the very least if they or Liverpool won the league as their main rivals have problems

Man United do not have a reliable striker and Chelsea, well its been well documented

They are converting them now..but can they keep it up??.do you think that the finishing problems of last season just dissapeared??i wouldnt think so..

Adebayor,Hleb and Rosicy are horrible finishers...they're just high on confidence now..one defeat and i'm sure we'll crumble..we dont have enough strong personalities

I don't know how anybody how Arsenal can be classified as weak in places when they have so many options.

Senderos is not a starter so it does not matter if he is reliable or not.
on paper he isnt a starter..but Gallas seems to be injury prone..and Toure is heading to the african cup in jan..i think it matters very much.he's going to get plenty of playing time..i'd much rather Djourou..who IMO is an extremely talented CB
They are not weak in the striking department because Adebayor, Van Persie and now Eduardo are enoughlsn mate...
IMO Adebayor's finishing is midtable class...absolutely terrible finishing for a striker..i'd be very worried if wenger keeps playing him ahead of eduardo
They have too many creative players to be worried about not creating chances..
that i agree with..Cesc,Hleb and Rosicky provide alot of creativity
Lehmann is going through a bad patch, does not mean he won't snap out of it and Almunia has never been a bad back up.

Wenger is 1 of the very best in the business, Clichy is a fantastic underrated left back with Sagna proving to be a hit as well.
i also think Clichy is very underrated..absolutely fantastic full back..made us completely forget about Ashley Cole..his final ball leaves a lot to be desired though
Sagna has impressed me too..he's an extremely powerful player..very solid

Fabregas is probably going to be player of the year and players like Diably, Diarra, Denislon are able back ups

I would rather have Arsenal's current outlook to Juventus's anyday of the week

Man United do not have a reliable striker and Chelsea, well its been well documented
IMO Man Utd's problems have been exaggerated..their bad results were mainly because they had both Ronaldo and Rooney injured..now that they're back..am sure we'll see a new look man utd..
Add to that nani's impressive form..and that they have more depth than arsenal..i'm sure they have a much bigger chance to win the league..

Rampant Arsenal Put Five Past Rams

An Emmanuel Adebayor hat-trick and goals from Cesc Fabregas and Abou Diaby helped Arsenal to a 5-0 rout at home to Derby County to continue The Gunners’ superb start to the season.

Arsenal remain top of the Premier League after another impressive display, albeit against lacklustre opposition.

It was always going to be a tough task for Derby who have only managed to bag four points this season. They visited The Emitrates for the first time to face an Arsenal side full of confidence and seemingly on top of their game. Many observers predicted a hammering, and that’s exactly what they got.

The Oxford English Dictionary are going to have to think up some more superlatives to describe the nature of Arsenal’s football at the moment. Against Sevilla in midweek they powered to a 3-0 victory, adding to their tally wins this season and proving that perhaps in Europe this year they can mount a serious challenge.

The only blemish on their record so far is a 1-1 draw against Blackburn, and even then it was only a goalkeeping error that prevented Arsenal from taking all three points away from Ewood Park.

The Gunners made several changes to the side that emerged victorious in the Champions League on Wednesday, Hleb and Rosicky forced out through injury, so in came Abou Diaby and Theo Walcott, van Persie was rested so Eduardo got a start.

Derby would have come into the game encouraged by their first win of the season, against Newcastle at pride Park on Monday. Kenny Miller started after his stunner against The Magpies, whereas Giles Barnes had to make do with a place on the bench.

At the start of the season few people would have predicted that Arsenal would be four points clear after just six games, but after today’s victory against Derby, that’s the reality. With Chelsea, Liverpool, Manchester United, and not to mention Tottenham, having their fair share of hiccups in the early stages, Arsenal have stolen a march on a title that nobody thought could be theirs this season.

There is an argument for saying that just because Arsenal can stick five past Derby, then that doesn’t mean that they are title contenders. But their performances over the nine games so far suggest that perhaps The Gunners can flourish a season early.

Back to the Emirates and Arsenal didn’t have to wait long to get on the scoresheet. Like on every occasion they have played away from home Derby conceded an early goal, and what a goal it was. Out of nowhere really, Abou Diaby, a player likened to a young Patrick Viera put the Gunners ahead with a stunning finish, crafting a yard of space with a series of smart turns before smashing the ball home from 20 yards. Last weekend Adebayor staked his claim for the Goal of The Month title, and Diaby’s effort was of similar quality.

As soon as the ball hit the back of the net, the disappointment on the face of the Derby players was apparent, their shoulders slumped and there was a sense of a rout inside The Emirates and the headlines were writing themselves: Rams To The Slaughter.

In total Arsenal had nine shots on target and could have perhaps had more than the five they got, and The Gunners would have loved to have bettered Liverpool’s tally against Derby, but it wasn’t to be.

Arsenal’s second of the game was another top-drawer goal, Emmanuel Adebayor getting his first of three for the afternoon, rounding the keeper and slotting home after collecting a stunning through ball from Cesc Fabregas.

Perhaps that’s why Arsenal are courting such praise at the moment, they very rarely score a scrappy goal.

The third couldn’t have been made to look stunning though, Robert Pires and Thierry Henry tried to do that a few years ago and made themselves look like fools. It came from the penalty spot after Matt Oakley had taken a fondness to Eduardo, tugging at the Croatians shirt, prompting Martin Atkinson to point to the spot. Adebayor stepped up, like he did against Pompey, and calmly slotted the ball into the corner of the net.

So far this season Arsenal are having no trouble in filling the void of goals expected from the departure of Thierry Henry, scoring a massive 14 goals in their last four outings. Cesc Fabregas is helping himself, netting his sixth in as many games with a 70 minute strike from outside the area, the ball swerving cruelly to deceive poor Bywater, who would be advised to see a chiropractor after spending much of this season stooping to get the ball out of the back of the net.

Adebayor completed proceedings ten minutes from time, completing a deserved hat-trick, his first in senior football. It’s only what he’s earned this season after performing, without exception, in every game he’s played in. His third was his best, a long diagonal ball was fed to the Togo star who controlled it on his chest before advancing towards goal and side-footing home, much to the chagrin of Derby, who looked to have had enough at half-time.

A 5-0 victory over a poor Derby side might not suggest a first title since 2004, but Arsenal continue to prove doubters wrong, and if they keep going like this, the sky is the limit.

Squads:

Arsenal: Manuel Almunia, Kolo Toure, Philippe Senderos, Gael Clichy, Bacary Sagna, Cesc Fabregas (Denilson 71) Mathieu Flamini (Alexandre Song 78), Abou Diaby, Theo Walcott (Lassana Diarra 71), Eduardo, Emmanuel Adebayor.

Derby County: Stephen Bywater, Andy Griffin, Tyrone Mears, Dean Leacock, Claude Davis, Matt Oakley, (Benny Feilhaber 55), Stephen Pearson, Gary Teale, Eddie Lewis, Kenny Miller (James McEveley 86), Steve Howard (Giles Barnes 76).

Liverpool Drop More Points

Liverpool have dropped another two points after failing to find a way past a resolute Birmingham side at Anfield this afternoon.

In a repeat of last weeks clash with Portsmouth, Rafael Benitez left Fernando Torres on the bench and ended up paying the price as the match ended goalless, meaning that Liverpool have now drawn three league games on the spin and four in all competitions.

The slump has seen the early season optimism diminish as Liverpool again drop points against lesser opposition when Benitez has tinkered with his team, which has been the big problem in recent seasons.

When Torres was introduced on the hour mark Liverpool looked a much improved threat, but it was too little too late as Birmingham defended resolutely to earn an impressive point as the Blues continue their fine recent run of results over Liverpool.

Benitez started with Ryan Babel in a more attacking role and Liverpool started brightly with John Arne Riise, back from injury, having a couple of attempts at goal.

Birmingham were then hit by a major blow when loan signing Borja Oubina had to be stretchered off with what looked to be a serious knee injury.

The next player to have an effort at Maik Taylor in Birmingham's goal was his former team-mate Jermaine Pennant, but the home team did not dominate as one might expect given the gulf in expectations of the two teams.

After the break Liverpool upped the pressure as Steven Gerrard was denied on the line by Nehdi Nafti, while the disappointing Andriy Voronin had a shot saved by Taylor.

Torres came on as did Peter Crouch in the closing stages and both had opportunities, however, first the Spaniard was denied as a superb bicycle kick attempt flew just over the bar, while Crouch was denied by a last ditch challenge from Steven Kelly.

Liverpool's supporters will be left disappointed with the result, which has seen the early league leaders slip four points behind Arsenal.

Adebayor a mid table finisher eh?

The guy is good, his only problem is that he should score more but at least he works very hard and is a better team player than Henry and gives by far more to a team than Trezeguet does.

I still think Arsenal have a fanstastic chance of winning the league and Senderos for a bench player he is as good as anybody.

Name me any team that has a world class centre back sitting on their bench and as for Djourou, he is worse than Senderos, his mistakes are just totally baffling and Wenger is not an idiot otherwise he would not have shipped off to Birmingham.

Gilberto Silva can do a job there as well

you say they are scoring because their confidence are up, who scores when they are low on confidence?

I still think United would suffer because of a lack of an out and out striker, you cannot keep relying on Ronaldo to score from midfield as teams would be ganging up on him

So much about Adebayor being a bad finisher. :D

i think all the big 4 have better back up defenders than senderos..Alex,Hyppia and Silvestre are all miles ahead of senderos who is average at best.
Djourou IMO is a very solid CB who plays with a lot of maturity for a defender his age..i'll never forget his performance against rooney in old trafford last season..i have very high hopes for him..and i think it was a big mistake that we will regret..sending him out on loan..imo every team needs at least 4 able centerbacks.

As for man utd..relying on ronaldo scoring for them...well the same could be said about arsenal relying on fabregas scoring..

And you still didnt answer my question...do you think that our finishing problems just disappeared overnight??

if not what do you think happened??
PS:i'm serious about the last question..i really do want to know what you think.

Apparently you didn't see Djourou today. He played extremely well and made my boys look like retards.
yes he i was changing channels between arsenal and liverpools games..Djourou was solid as always..he's calm and composed unlike senderos who is too panicky for a CB

Todays game:

Great performance from the lads..but i have to say Derby is one of the worst team to ever play in the epl..Diaby played one of his best ever games in an arsenal shirt..he took his goal very well and threatened to score another..Cesc was genius once again..it seems like his passes cant go wrong..lets hope we can keep hold of him..Clichy again was excellent..i genuinly believe he is the best leftback in the league..and to be fair to adebayor he was fantastic too..Eduardo was quite good..its a shame he couldnt score today.

The only player who didnt play well today was walcott..ever since he's come to Arsenal he hasnt convinced me that he's good enough..another overrated english player IMO..other than pace he has fuck all...His decision making is appaling..and he has absolutely no end product..for 12M i expect much more to be honest

It is just my theory and do not take it as gospel but I think last season, Arsenal were affected by the loss of Thierry Henry quite badly.

Remember Henry has never been injured during his time at Arsenal prior to last season and they always played to his strength.

I have seen them many times where everyone is always trying to give Henry the chance to score from Ljunberg to Reyes, always looking for Henry

Then all of a sudden he was not there and they probably did not know what to do, Van Persie tried but he got injured for long periods and that affected Arsenal

Dennis Bergkamp was a huge miss

Now there is no Henry and others are taking the mantle and more importantly they are all taking more responsbility and noone lurking in the shadow to disturb the likes of Adebayor and Van Persie.

Yes I think goal scoring problems are over

Frustrated Benitez Stands By Torres Omisson

Liverpool boss Rafa Benitez was left frustrated by his team's goalless home draw against Birmingham City, but has stood by his decision to leave Fernando Torres out.

"You must be frustrated because you know before that you must win this kind of game," Rafa said after a second consecutive goalless draw, one that sees them fall four point off the pace, being set by red hot Arsenal.

"You could see we were attacking, attacking, attacking – especially in the first half.

"Clear chances are really difficult when the opponents play so deep. We had a lot of shots but they were off target.

"We tried in the wide areas, we tried to get crosses in – everything. It was really difficult but if you have some chances you must take them."

"We knew they would be deep and narrow and compact, so we needed the strikers to play between the lines."

The lack of bite in the final third posed the obvious question on Fernando Torres' omission - a tactical decision made by the Liverpool boss. However, Rafa staunchly defended his decision.

"Kuyt and Voronin can do this," he insisted.

"After, when we needed fresh legs, we brought on Fernando, but you could see how many times he got behind defenders – never.

"That's because there was no space."

Benitez so needs to stop messing around with the lineup every so often. His resume would look much better if he puts his best 11 out there as much as he can instead of rotatiing players like mad. He's worse than Ranieri when it comes to messing with the lineups IMO.

P.S Berbatov has been so fucking AWESOME so far.Everytime i watch Spurs play im like someone of his quality should be in a team challenging for the CL trophy.Unless Spurs get their act together,i so hope he moves to a much bigger team. The guy's worth every godamn cent paid for him.
