Yeah. Why would someone coach a great squad with a great budget in the most popular and exposed league in the World.
Whoever coaches Chelsea has a very tough job to do.
1st, He would have a big budget yes but one that is equaled and even bettered by his competitors. United and City will probably have a larger transfer kit and the market will be very inflated with all the english teams + Madrid shopping for players on very big budgets. So he would be relatively disadvantaged in that regard
2nd, the market disadvantage will be made worse by the lack of CL football next season. United are likely to have the same disadvantage.
3rd, the squad is missing a lot of players to be complete. The defense (usually their point of strength especially if Conte or Simeone become the coach) is dead. Azpilicueta and Zouma are the only two good ones remaining and the latter is too raw and just had a horrific injury. They'll need two very good starting CBs and a fullback while Ivanovic and Cahil can be bench options at best that is if they choose to stay. Terry is leaving while Ivanovic and cahil seem finished.
They will also need a new world class striker and probably a winger if Hazard leaves or continues to be a mental midget. Add to that a Matic sub and you are looking at six players to be bought (ST, LW, DM, 2 CBs, Lb).
4rth, the good players in the squad are all mentally broken with the exception of Courtois and Willian. Costa, Hazard, Fabregas, Matic, Oscar all need to be revitalized.
Either Conte or Simeone would be the right coaches to get since both have a very good experience of laying foundations, nurturing young players, motivating underperforming players (bringing them back to their best) and getting the most out of average players while winning.
Conte laid the foundations for Juve (3-5-2) integrating 9 players in the first team and bench, nurtured young players like Pogba, motivated previously underperforming players like Pirlo, Barzagli, Marchisio, Bonnuci, and got the most out of average players like Matri, Quags, Vucinic, Pepe, Giacherrini, Padoin, and others.
Simeone did the same with a squad full of rejects and unknowns, (made Tiago look like alonso) and is continuing to to exceptionally good work with an average squad on paper. He made Falcao, Costa and now the very young griezman into WC stars and has made the loss of turan look like nothing. The best coach in football today is him imo. Both are great motivators and that is the main thing that Chelsea lacks now. It wont be an easy job that is certain but the objectives are likely going to be Arsenal-like, namely top 4 finish for the first season and showing clear signs of cohesion and improvement.
