I think he was just having fun. I doubt even the Arsenal fans believe they have any chance against Barcelona.
Think we could pull a surprise result at home, Barca's defense looks poor.
2-0 to us im confident!!
Mertesacker with Koscielny next to him and Coq in between, we're gonna control them.
Unbeaten in two Emirates games against them and this time there's no Bendtner. We can do it.
I really think we'll win this one but will probably be unable to overcome them at the Nou Camp, though we have the tools too.
I see no reason for us to lose. We have a better balance than previous encounters

It seems that Arsenal think that they have improved rather than that their competitors regressed. Is the number of points they have now higher than what they used to have at this stage in the season? @Fred

If yes then that can imply either that Arsenal have improved or that their competitors have regressed (and thus they are now able to win matches they werent able to before) or both.

If the answer is No (there is not a substantial difference in the number of points that they have now compared to previous seasons) then there is only one conclusion which is that they have not improved.

...or that their competition has regressed.

But yeah, they're not really any better than they were last season. The thing with Arsenal however is that they are terribly incosistent, and while that will probably mean that they'll get destroyed 4:0, it could also mean that they somehow pull out their 1 in 10 games amazing performance and cause an upset.

Unlikely, I know, but a man can dream.

Most of the Arsenal fans think Coquelin is a really good cvm or box-to-box but he isn't. He is just decent, but because Arsenal had not a defensive type of midfielder with a lot of grinta for a long time they think he is now world class. I swear, every Serie A team has a player like him and most of them aren't really worser than Coquelin. Koscielny is overrated aswell, he is good with the ball, but not like Bonucci and he isn't that agressive as Chiello or controlled like Barza. Just a good defender and he plays well with the 'high-defensiveline' from Arsenal. Mertesacker is the better defender, but only if he is playing deep close to the goal. He is not made to play by the middle-circle.

I am curious about Man. City. Kyiv is a really tough team with strong footballers and some real quality players (Yarmolenko, Dragovic etc.).

And not or.

Arsenal have most definitely not improved. If anything they have regressed. Last season they had 56 points after playing 26 games. Today they have 51 points after 26 games. They have 5 points less than they used to have AND their main competitors have regressed too. Chelsea (now dead), had 57 points while City (now 47) had 54 with a game on hand. Even liverpool had 53 at that stage last season (equal to current Leicester).

It would be a great shame if that incompetent wenger wins the EPL title with this mediocre team.

So on Saturday there was the first coin throwing incident I'd seen in England for a while, a West Brom fan threw one at their own player (Chris Brunt) because they lost in the cup. Big headlines, lots of condemnation.

The very next day several Chelsea fans throw coins at Man City players (basically a bunch of kids) when they equalised.

I don't get it. You have to be some kind of special moron to get it, I guess.

Ok 3 points I'd like to discuss:

Have we improved over last season? IMO just barely, not that much of an improvement, but an improvement nonetheless. I don't know how Wenger expects us to improve when he doesn't address our weaknesses in the transfer market. Giroud isn't suddenly going to become a world beater, Mertesacker isn't suddenly be able to run faster than my grandmother, and Flamini isn't suddenly going to start looking remotely like a professional footballer. I love my team, and I watch every minute of every game and do not miss it for anything, but it has got to be one of the most frustrating teams to support in the world. The potential we have, with our finances, our stadium, our fanbase and all those success factors and we keep failing and doing it the same way and for the same reasons every year is just infuriating. The only reason we're still in the race for the title this season is because the competition in the EPL has been extremely poor.

Do we have a chance against Barcelona? I think they are the favorites for the CL, I think we are exactly the kind of team they enjoy playing against. You need to be very good at defending as a unit, very quick on counters, and extremely efficient with your chances to stand a chance against them, and while I like our counterattacking football the past two seasons and think we have very good counterattacking ability, we fall short in defending as a unit and in being efficient in front of goal. So while I'm sure we might cause them a lot of trouble at home, the latter two factors will mean we don't stand a chance at the Camp Nou.

On Coquelin and Koscielny: I like both players; Coquelin does a good job for us, he's very energetic, he's an excellent tackler, he breaks up play well, and in general his performances have been very consistent over the past year or so. It's still too early to judge him, because he suddenly burst into the scene and this could all be due to him being very grateful for getting a chance to play regularly at the top level, but if he continues these performances I think Arsenal should be very happy with him; our problem is not having any cover whatsoever for him.

Koscielny is our only decent defender IMO, he's not a world beater in any sense, he does make one too many mistakes with his positioning, but he's excellent for the high line we play and he's one of the fastest CB's in the world IMO, which gives him a big advantage in the EPL where spaces are open and pace is extremely important. The other two are our problem; Mertesacker and Gabriel.
