Rooney can't dribble for shit
Really? Do you mean tricks and flicks and stuff? He's not that type of player, Rooney is just fine at dribbling, especially at speed, and he has excellent technique.

Not sure where he comes into the equation for really top players, however. Maybe something like 15th.

To me, dribbling and running past players are two different things.
Of course they are, but I think you're confusing the two in regards to Rooney. He's not a flying machine like Walcott who can kick and run, especially not these days.

Would you say for example that Nedved could dribble?

Rooney had to change when he went to United, they didn't need him to be that explosive direct player, they had Ronaldo.

Other parts of his game were developed, to help United, but to the detriment of England.

United basically tried to turn him into a Gazza, partly because of their weak midfield.

exactly Nedved couldn't dribble either.
But I mentioned dribbling because IMO that's what makes Aguero better than Rooney overall. I mean Aguero can do all the stuff that Rooney does + dribbling

They took his Gazza aspect away from his game.

I think they tried to creat more of a Scholes type player.
You're right, eventually that is what he became, which is down to Fergie. His lack of natural fitness probably play as part as well, too often he comes out of pre-season with work to do.

Aguero is nowhere near as strong but is not weak either.

I guess we just disagree on what dribbling entails :D
