You mean he is an immediate improvement as a back-up? I doubt that he is better than any of Marchisio, Pjanic or Khedira even Asamoah when fully fit.
With marchisio not back till later this year. Khedira and Asamoah both known for picking up injuries. Neves will slot in like we missed no-one. We cant take a risk or with just the 4 you mentioned. Yes he is an immediate improvement to backup but not only that, this guy has the ability and potential to be at the same level as marchisio and pjanic. Dont forget his not some overhyped kid who had about 10 starts for porto, his been a regular both club and international level and his already very mature on the pitch.

We need a DMF and a creative MF (Marchisio wise but fast) and we are done.
We don't need DMF.
We have Marchisio, Lemina and Pjanic for regista position (center in 3-man MF).
DMF in side-MF position just suxx. And we have Khedira/Asa/Sturaro for this positions when we are not desperate to score.
But when we have to score... We just can't improve attacking quality of 3man MF, because we have only one creative/able to attack midfielder - Pjanic.
So we need some Fabregas/Oscar/Hamsik-like in MF. Not pure trequartista (James, Isco), but a real midfielder who can attack.

If we bring back Cuadrado that leaves us with 26 players. If we sell Zaza and Hernanes we only have room for 1 more player. If we get Bastian for free we wouldn't get another CM. That would be the CM.
2 actually. Pereyra frees up a place for Cuadrado, so Hernanes and Zaza would free up 2 more spots

I think it´s going to be a punic buy on the last transfer day (like Hernanes it was).
and they are talking about the champions league title :ratcafe:
lol i hope you start supporting Barcelona at the end of the mercato because we sign Schweinsteiger and then cry for days after Juve kicks them out with a Schweinigoal

 Especially in the 352 we need another midfielder (aside from Pjanic) with ability to play attacking football. Else it's just too predictable; shut off the wingbacks and the support striker and it's GG for the opponent.

Overall (prices excluded), if we close this mercato with Matuidi and Cuadrado (while letting go of Zaza and Hernanes), I will be quite satisfied.

Defence:

OUT: Caceres
IN: Alves, Benatia

Midfield:

OUT: Pogba, Padoin, Pereyra, Hernanes,
IN: Pjanic, Matuidi, Mandragora, Marrone (he stays?)

Forwards:

OUT: Morata, Zaza
IN: Higuain, Pjaca

Squad:

GKs: Buffon, Neto, Audero
DEF: ALVES, Lichsteiner, Barzagli, Bonucci, Chiellini, BENATIA, Rugani, Evra, Sandro
MID: Khedira, Marchisio, PJANIC, MATUIDI, Asamoah, Lemina, Sturaro, MANDRAGORA
FWD: Dybala, PJACA, Cuadrado, HIGUAIN, Mandzukic

Squad of 25. Under 21s are Audero, Mandragora, and Pjaca (FIGC rules). Senior players are therefore 22. Marchisio and Rugani (FIGC) classified as home grown. The squad is the right number for Serie A. However, I am not sure whether UEFA has different rules concerning Rugani and Pjaca which may mean 1 or 2 players may need to be cut from the champions league list.

OVERALL, Defence and Attack are an UPGRADE especially with Higuain. Midfield is a moderate downgrade after losing Pogba but Pjanic was probably second best mid in Serie A last year and Matuidi and a fully fit Asamoah should help make the loss bearable.
:agree:
Great squad,i like it.

Pogba-Marchisio-Khedira did perfectly well, what makes you think Pjanic-Marchisio_Khedira wont? we have Dani/Cuadrado, AS,and Dybala for extra creativity too

no, the 2 free slots (24-25) may either be filled by homegrown players or left empty. with the current squad, even hernanes (or asamoah, zaza, pjanic, higuain, pick one) doesn't fit into the 25-man squad. we absolutely need to sell 2 players even to get cuadrado.

Thats great. Where did you get that? That really answers what I was pondering. Basically, if we Cuadrado and say Matuidi come in and Hernanes and Zaza go out, we would basically still need to cut 1 player from the list. That player is either going to be Rugani or Sturaro.
from this guy's twitter: https://twitter.com/Mau_Romeo he publishes the list every time the squad changes. i posted the pic just for the sake of tapatalk guys.

rugani qualifies as a homegrown player for the championship, so the cl squad might be different than the one for serie a.

GKs - Buffon, Neto, Audero
DFs - Barzagli, Bonucci, Chiellini, Rugani, Benatia, AS, DA, Licht, Evra
MFs - Marchisio, Khedira, Pjanic, Asamoah, Lemina, Hernanes, Sturaro, Marrone
FWs - Dybala, Mandzukic, Higuain, Zaza, Pjaca, Cuadrado

thats our current squad (unless im forgetting someone again). 26 players, 4 HG, one U21. if we dont sign anyone else, this squad is OK, so for every new player that arrives we have to sell one, so basically Hernanes out, new mid in, Zaza out, another player in

for CL, we probably remove Sturaro or Rugani from the list and add a Primavera player
