My claim was that pogba needed 'a solid midfield behind him to perform'. Now we still got that solid midfield, but the Pogba is gone. I've always held Fabregas in incredible high regard. The way i see it, he is by far and away the best player we have been linked with.

Marchisio behind Pjanic and Fabregas is absolutely on par with any midfield in the world in therms of offensive output. I recall Fabregas from Arsenal beeing in the middle and also pulling his defensive work when instructed.


Maybe i'm overrating him, but he would always start in a 3man midfield at madrid if i was the coach.

Kroos and Modric are better.



Its kinda silly to play him and Pjanic together with Marchisio tho, needs more physical presence in midfield and those two hardly offer it , especially Pjanic is the weaker one while Fabregas is bit slowish.

they are better in dictating tempo but no where near as creative assist makers imo

Modric reigns supreme, but fabregas brings alot more invention, creativity and decisiveness then kroos does. I'm a bit surprised about you thinking that tbh

Thats what i've tought, and at juve you'd have Pjanic and Marchisio for that.

Indeed. If we didn't already sign Pjanic I could see the point. But right now we need a different type of midfielder. Someone who's much stronger physically.
