Diawara will be around, his country did not qualify.
I thought qualifying wasn't finished yet?

OMG Eriksen

@Mark

If we get him, please allow me to create the thread
:tuttosport:

Plus Roma fans would go into another meltdown. They all think Eriksen is a huge Roma fan and would never play for anyone else in serie a. Back in 2012 he said "it is true I am a fan of Roma. I would be very happy if I were able to wear their shirt one day."

The links to Eriksen? What is the source? It sounds like wishful thinking at the moment just because he asked for a lot more wages from Tottenham. Is there a credible source? (I don't consider Tuttosport as credible)

Eriksen is great but I thought our priority was to get a box to box warrior (someone with Vidal like characteristics). I wouldn't be upset if we get him though. If we got him, all of a sudden we would have 3-4 players capable of playing as a trequartista.

I think it has to be a TQ. Allegri has been toying with a 4-3-1-2 all preseason with Pereyra. He really likes that formation, but currently cannot play it. Until Marchisio returns, it won't be crippling to have Pjanic or Hernanes to play in that role. But as a TQ, we don't nearly have sufficient depth. Allegri doesn't see Pjanic as TQ ("Pjanic è un giocatore che può giocare da regista o da mezzala, ma io ritengo che il suo ruolo sia quello di regista: per me è un giocatore che deve stare sempre al centro del gioco"), Hernanes failed in that role, and Dybala is better as a forward. I think we will buy an impact TQ. Who? Let's find out.

I'm going to be bold and guess it will be one of:
-James
-Eriksen
-Draxler

James is next to impossible. His market value is way beyond our reach here. Draxler is too similar to Pjaca. Eriksen seems most likely out of the 3 mentioned.

Still my gut feeling is that it will be none of the above. I expect we will end up with Matuidi and no-one else.

I think we might just end up with Fabregas and Diawara.
Fabregas seems like a possibility. I think him and Diawara is far more likely than the other names being mentioned. Fabregas is more versatile but his value is reasonably high given his age and patchy form. I am not sure of the figures, but I suspect we are talking 40m for him which is a lot for a 29 year old with patchy form.

He also earns quit a bit!

We might not even buy him outright. Could work out a loan or something, I highly doubt we'd be willing to spend more then 30mil for him specially when we already have a player kinda similar to him in Pjanic.
He is excess at Chelsea, and might not be used by Conte too much, come winter time he'd be a great signing, specially if he's been rotting on the bench :D
