Marotta didn't say he will stay, but that they don't have plans to sell. It's important distinction he said we sell only players who want to Leave.
I didn't say he did, I say I wouldn't take his word. What happened with Vidal, after he said he would stay, is proof enough he hasn't got shit over his players. They choose whatever.

Which still bothers me A LOT, a contract should mean something and apparently in modern football it never does. And definitely not at Juventus.

It's even more ridiculous to think that James is signing with us. Absolute BS of the higher order.
Of course it's BS. He's a 50+m player. We don't have that. The only way we get that kind of money is if Pogba decides to go.

Marotta has always made it clear that they don't intend to sell UNLESS the player's will is to leave then the clubs philosophy is to not keep players here against their wishes (i.e. Vidal & Coman).

So, if Pogba decides to leave then you can bet your sweet cakes he will be sold.

But Pogba doesent want to leave so there is no point in this discussion
I'm not saying he does or he doesn't. I'm state the clubs philosophy. If he wants to be sold he will be sold so people shouldn't act surprised when that day comes if it ever does.

A contract is not really a contract (despite the name), it's really a gamble. The club thinks it's a good price to pay for a player who will contribute a certain amount and the player thinks it's a good deal to take in terms of money and career path.

If the player is motivated mostly by money it's easy - just pay him more than most other clubs would and he's likely to want to remain as long as possible.

These 3 posts should cover most of the mercato horseshit for the next 2 months. Sadly we cannot sticky posts, only threads

I think people need to understand that the "uncertainty" around Pogba has nothing to do with him being at Juve. There is "uncertainty" around Messi, Neymar, Ronaldo and the likes as well because those are the names that sell.

If we want to be free of transfer rumors we need to have a team full of Padoins. In todays football every player and their dog will get drawn to transfer speculation such is the business nowadays.

But he wanted to leave?
Unlike Pogba, he said many times how he loves us and even went as far as saying that he'd stay at Juve for life. We all know the rest.

My point being is that saying that Pogba will stay for sure is just as retarded as saying that he will leave.

Nothing is certain.

Quality is quality, we should know by now after signing Barzagli, Pirlo and Tevez in similar age Mascherano is. He is pretty much the best overall defensive player you can have these days.
