7 Mids is completely fine,IF they all stay healthy for MOST of the season.
Marchsio-Pjanic-Khedira is a TOP level midfield.
Asa-Lemina-Sturaro are great subs for sure and can help with rotation.

The big question mark here is the health of Khedira and Marchisio's form and recovery.
Another thing is the AFCON,which Asa and Lemina will participate in January.
We CAN be fine as we are,but better not take those risks,and get another good mid now.

Things would get interesting if and when Marchisio and Sami get injured, lemina and Asamoah leave for the euros and we are stuck with Hernanes and Sturaro in midfield. God forbid Pjanic ever gets injured too.
If this is to truely be a great mercato we have to find at least one decent midfielder. The management know this too.
