i dunno why everyones going over the moon about swp. he's good and all, but he's not worth 21 million, thats nearly as ridiculous as souness' price tag on jenas. swp is gonna have such a different role at chelski than city i really wonder how he's gonna get along. i dont think he's good enough to force either robben or duff onto the bench, and joe cole has had an excellent season too. and with swp's patchy performances i reckon he's gonna have alot of cold tuesday nights playing against derby county reserves

That's exactly what I said to one of my friends. Wright-Phillips is an exceptional young player but he's not worth 21m. Juve could get Cassano for less than that, and as you pointed out in a different post, established world class players (Vieira

Arsenal are lining up Roma midfielder Olivier Dacourt as a replacement for Patrick Vieira who joined Juventus last week.
Media reports in France on Thursday suggest the Gunners are in advanced talks with Dacourt’s representatives, whose contract with Italian side Roma runs for another 12 months.
It’s not the first time that Coach Arsene Wenger has tried to bring the combative midfielder to Highbury.
After the 1998-99 season with Everton, Dacourt chose to return to France with Lens ahead of Arsenal before joining Leeds the following year.
After playing in the Champions’ League semi-finals with Leeds, Arsenal came knocking again, however this time it was the North London club that pulled the plug on negotiations, preferring the cheaper option of Brazilian Gilberto Silva.
Now, however, given Roma’s fragile financial state, Dacourt could be allowed to go for free, just to trim down the club’s wage bill.

Newcastle have confirmed that they have made bids for Anelka and Boa Morte.

Newcastle United have made a double bid for Fenerbahce's Nicolas Anelka and Fulham's Luis Boa Morte.
Chairman Freddy Shepherd has confirmed The Magpies have made move for the pair, although it is understood The Cottagers have swiftly rejected the offer for Boa Morte.
"We have made an offer to Fulham for Luis Boa Morte," Shepherd told the club's official website.
"We've also tabled a bid with Fenerbahce for Nicolas Anelka. We are now waiting for replies from both clubs."
The North East outfit are desperate to bolster their attacking options, with only Alan Shearer, Michael Chopra and Shola Ameobi available to manager Graeme Souness.
Anelka has only been in Turkey for six months following his move from Manchester City, while Newcastle have been long-term suitors for Boa Morte.
The Portuguese winger was in blistering form at St James' Park last season, scoring in Fulham's stunning 4-1 success and he is also believed to have attracted interest from Middlesbrough.
