Fair enough. He was kicked in the groin and retaliated. Obviously wrong and everyone makes mistakes.

But what else? When else did he start breaking people's legs when things wasn't going our way last season?

Of course he is stiff still...was his first game and the game turned on to be overly complicated all of a sudden... BUT

The pros:
-This guy seems to have skills on the ball at his feet....
-He is willing to go in 1v1 without fear and seems to have the skills to work with.
-He ALWAYS pressured the enemies when they had the ball, even when defending is definitely not his best asset, and ran a lot. This a must in conte´s Juve.

For his age and his first game at juventus,,, i just can give him credit for a positive mentality and workrate.
Also we need to take into account that he seems very confortably in playing with skilled players like del piero and marchisio. Players from last season m,ost of the time simply didnt understand how del piero plays and fucked up everything he tried to do. Elia seems to read the plays from this players wonderfully.

I liked the moment towards the end of the match when he was sprinting back and tackled the Bologna player, then turned to go attack again. He does that -> he plays.
This. If he does this game in game out... i would seriously consider him to contest pepe´s position.... because unlike pepe... elia seems to have innate dribbling skills and flair. If he can improve his marking and tackling..then hel yes why not?

Let the bro play!

Looking at the video again he should of blasted his shot instead of trying to chip the keeper, but I can't blame his confidence. He showed some great sparks, and proved he could also do the dirty work by tracking back to defend.

I like to see more of him, hopefully he'll get some playing time against Roma.

Elia's best position is on the left, still had a good game imo, tracked back for the ball and got a good reaction from the crowd. He has all the skills to become a good player, speed, technique, passing and determination all he needs is someone like Conte to help him mature. He needs to improve his positioning a bit, he has a habit of hiding behind the defenders. I'd like to see more of him in the league he's a pretty exciting player

Finally he popped his Juve cherry. Hope to see him improve on this
Good game for him i really liked him
Brother Elia should get some Serie A time off the bench
More than anything else he has ever done, I liked the moment towards the end of the match when he was sprinting back and tackled the Bologna player, then turned to go attack again. He does that -> he plays.
BROTHER ELJEROOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! FINALLY
Elia 1-0 milos

but i think elia still needs to develop his game before he can really challenge for a starting shirt, he was quite frustrating to watch at times and at tohers looks good.
The one thing I liked tonight, he looked frustrated when something did not go right, he looked hungry to impress.

I'm absoultely wasted but :weee:

He tried to take on players and show some skill, he showed some defensive insticts in winning the ball back, assisted Marchisio, nearly got an assist for Del Piero and almost scored one. All in all, it was a pretty decent outing for Brother Eljero, let's hope we can see more of him in Serie A now.

No, Melo would then get up and do something stupid, whereas Elia got up and ran his arse off to win back possession or make himself available for a pass.
Meh Melo would have gotten flack for the exact reaction as Elia. I feel like that sort of reaction doesn't say much about a player is only really being used to further an already formed opinion of said player.

If Elia does it he's "determined". If Melo does it he's Psycho.

Stop talking about that psycho mofo melo ffs. This elia thread.

Melo proved us that he is a psycho bastard and when things are going wrong he just go from dr jeckyll to mr hyde and start getting red cards left and right.

Elia can scream all what he wants as long as he doesnt starts to get send out.

Felipe Melo is simply not a good player. I don't really need to point to Parma-episodes, Brazil vs. Netherlands, him shouting like a beast just because he managed to tackle some player (which, by the way, is his job, and he's not doing it very well).

I just need to point to his poor tactical awareness and poor sense of positioning. And his risky passing.

He did not have a good season last season. Granted, it was better than his last one, but definitely not up to standard.
