Good on Elia for being a good sport (lol) about his failed spell here. Lots of nerds would probably kick up a fuss - regardless if they are gettin paid to basically work out.

He's been a great professional in his public communication at the very least. Maybe some of that lacked on the training pitch but we don't really know anything about that for sure.

This is where you have to identify the mistake.

Signing him for 9m was a very bad move.

Selling him for 5.5m, almost certainly rising to 6.5m and possibly rising to 7.5m is fair.

Don't criticise the sale just because the initial signing was bad.
